    EN World EN5ider Has Launched!

I asked Morrus about this earlier. The articles would do fine in epub format. I might just create an example epub from one of the pdf's to check if my assumption about amount of work is correct. For adventures, it's probably not worth it, due to more advanced formatting needed in some cases...

D&D 5E (2014) What separates a sandbox adventure from an AP?

If you always end up in Washington DC and it looks the same every time, no matter what route you took, I think it's still a railroad. To the players, it might not feel like a railroad, which is a huge improvement. On the other hand, if the route you take really affects the end point, it's much...

    EN World EN5ider Has Launched!

I can see why there is a word limit, but I do hope we can see a bit longer adventures in the future, and that you get enough patrons to pay for it. There is one upside to short adventures like this, and it's prep time. Sounds ok for a convention game with premade characters. I do like your idea...

    EN World EN5ider Has Launched!

I ended up with 2$ per article, but 4$ max. A bit cheap-ass*, but I will increase the total sum if I think it's worth it. Currently it isn't, but I hope enough people will chip in to let you create more, higher quality articles and adventures. Props for good production value! :) *I would feel...

    EN World EN5ider Has Launched!

So, assuming it's going to be 3 articles and an adventure a month. For 1$ an article, i will only get access to the articles, so 3$ a month? For 2$ an article, I will get the articles and the adventure for a total of 8$ a month? I liked one of the articles, wasn't interested in the other two...

    D&D 5E (2014) Campaigns losing steam

It's hard to get people to commit to 4-6 hour long sessions. For one of my campaigns, I haven't been able to run a game more than about once every 4-8 weeks. My solution was to run a second game in 5e that I just lightly prepped, using the Starter set. I basically only needed 30-60 minutes...

    D&D 5E (2014) A Board Game style Release Schedule

It doesn't really matter if they did the Tiamat books in-house or not, they are still the publisher and it was definitively in their 5e release schedule. They are WotC branded products done in close cooperation with WotC. Now, for my part, I liked the Starter set adventure, but haven't really...

    D&D 5E (2014) A Board Game style Release Schedule

Well said! Something to add here is that one business model used in the video game industry is to use expansions/DLCs to sell more of the original game. I know that for instance Payday 2 has had medium-large DLCs every 3-4 months. They generate a lot of publicity and actually make the original...

D&D 5E (2014) Can a Battlemaster pickup a disarmed weapon as part of his action?

depends on who/what you are fighting. also there can be other opponents close by.

D&D 5E (2014) Can a Battlemaster pickup a disarmed weapon as part of his action?

Sure he can pick it up, but I would say that it provokes an opportunity attack. The same goes for the one disarmed, which again makes the disarming a bit more meaningful.

    D&D 5E (2014) Natural Armor

3.x didn't have bounded accuracy. To keep up with the base attack bonus which increased by one every level, you needed something to keep up. The "standard" gear would be a amulet of natural armor +x, a ring of protection +x and an armor +x. (X being 1-5). 5e has bounded accuracy, so having...

    D&D 5E (2014) The Arctic Campaign and 5th edition

Minigiant so you are basically saying the same thing as I did in the last post, with different words? Good advice informing the players that their survival gear is super-important in such a setting. :)

    D&D 5E (2014) The Arctic Campaign and 5th edition

I don't get what you are saying here? Of course people who live in arctic or sub-artic places don't sit outside for hours. They either bring some shelter, build a temporary one or do the herding or hunting they need to do outdoors. My point was that you probably wouldn't need or produce magic...

    D&D 5E (2014) The Arctic Campaign and 5th edition

I don't think it really makes too much sense (or, at least more sense than buying magical items otherwise). If you look at the native population of Greenland and Finnmark in Norway where you regularly get temperatures of around 40-50 degreese below zero in winter, they don't really have any...

    D&D 5E (2014) What's the point of gold?

I have only DM-ed 5e up to level 4 and haven't given out any magic items, but so far they haven't had too many problems. Creative players and good strategy/tactics seem to help out a lot.

QUESTS OF DOOM For D&D 5E Is Here!

After you have paid, you get redirected to a page displaying your username/password which you can use to login and download the adventure. It took 1-2 hours before I got the confirmation mail. I browsed through the adventures and my initial impression is a bit mixed. The quality of the...

AD&D 2E Yup, it's confirmed, 5E is the easiest version to run since 2E.

Yeah, the same here. 5e actually looked worth purchasing, and still feels worth it after the purchase. :)

D&D 5E (2014) Am I the only one that dislikes Adventure Paths?

I agree with the OP, even though adventure paths has some strengths like preparation time. I really prefer shorter adventures or sandboxy adventures like Red Hand of Doom. Currently I am running a 4e campaign that has used some homebrew (level 1-2), Reavers of Harkenworld (level 2-4)...

    D&D 5E (2014) Analyzing 5E: Overpowered by design

What's up with arguing about what class is the best? It's going to be soooo circumstancial I don't know why you are even bothering. Anyway, comparing to earlier editions, there are quite a lot of abilities that feels overpowered in 5e. This might feel like a problem initially to a previous...

QUESTS OF DOOM For D&D 5E Is Here!

Any chance you will do a review of one or more of these adventures? I would certainly find it really valuable. :)
