(Adventure) Heroes of The Vesper Peaks (Uriel judging)

Since he can't reach the creature, Jaret lights his hooded latern in case something happens to the torch or the torch bearer. As he does so, he begins to review his healing spells in his mind.

(Adventure) Heroes of The Vesper Peaks (Uriel judging)

Since he is unable to see in the dark, Jaret stays close to Jagos and his torch. He takes a bandage from his healer's kit and uses that to fashion a makeshift scarf. Anyone else need something to help shield their mouth and nose from dust and gases? I have some extra bandages we could use...

Jaret stands still and looks for signs that the creature may be just another confused miner.

    Gamers in SE Manitoba

I'm looking for gamers in SE Manitoba, Canada. More specifically, I live just outside of St. Pierre Jolys, about 40 minutes south of Winnipeg. If anyone is interested, drop me a line. My interests are more on the DMing end of things. At this point, I'd be prepared to run the World's...

Best 3rd party dungeon crawl adventures

I would second DaveMage's recomendation of the World's Largest Dungeon. It is very well written (despite typos and such). You might also want to consider the Banewarrens by Monte Cook. Both of these are too long for just a weekend session, though you could enjoyably play through one section...

(Adventure) Heroes of The Vesper Peaks (Uriel judging)

Jarret quietly says to the rest of the group, There's something wrong about this guy. There's something about him that isn't like normal people, but I can't quite put my finger on what it is. He touches his symbol of Chennet' for reassurance.

    World's Largest Dungeon reviewed

This would take care of the biggest difficulty for wizards. The dungeon is a no-teleport zone (for the most part). The whole point of the dungeon is to keep magical creatures from escaping. There are a bunch of empty rooms that could be fortified by the PCs if they want some downtime...

(Adventure) Heroes of The Vesper Peaks (Uriel judging)

Jaret was about to point out the eyes to the rest of the group when Marl gave his warning. He thinks to himself, I have to learn to be more subtle. Marl obviously knows what he's doing, maybe if I watch him in action I can pick up a few tips. Jaret grips his greataxe a little more firmly...

(Adventure) Heroes of The Vesper Peaks (Uriel judging)

Jaret ascends as stealthily as he can, following about 10 feet behind Grog and focusing more on the climb than on observing his surroundings.

(Adventure) Heroes of The Vesper Peaks (Uriel judging)

Jaret looks at the effect his healing spell had on Marl and shakes his head. That spell worked much better when I used it before before. Let me try that again. Jaret spontaneously casts Cure Light wounds on Marl again . Then he goes over to Buster and uses his healing skill to try to...

How about Using DVDs to teach new gamers?

This sounds like a very good idea. Since I live in the middle of nowhere, I've had to teach myself the rules, then turn around and teach my player. Having a sample session would have been very useful and probably still would be. It would be fun to see Rule 0 in action.

    Arcana Unearthed: GRIMOIRE II

No, these are the spells from CBOEM and BOHM I & II. Grimoire I has the AU spells.

    Haggling?

You might want to check out Sold on 3d6.org (Word Document). My group just jumps straight to step 4 - I assign a DC, they roll a diplomacy check, depending how much they beat the DC, they get X percent more than 50% of book value.

    Teaching the spousal unit D&D

I recently started playing with my wife and another couple we're friends with. It was my second time DMing anything beyond a one-shot (first was in Sunday School, oddly enough, back in my high school days). They're all new to RPGs. My wife reads a lot of fantasy and plays Neverwinter...

    Calling All Canadians!

I'm from a little francophone town, St. Pierre Jolys, about 40 minutes south of Winnipeg, Manitoba. I spent a couple of years each in Ottawa, Ontario and Lethbridge, Alberta. Before that, I spent five years in Minneapolis, Minnesota living with Americans and their folkways. Now that I have a...

(Adventure) Heroes of The Vesper Peaks (Uriel judging)

If he hasn't done so already, Jaret goes over to Marl and spontaneously casts Cure Light Wounds. He then checks the injuries on the rest of those present (Heal 7) to determine who needs healing beyond what a good night's rest will provide. Let's see what happens when Asen wakes up. If he...

Does your spouse/significant other game with you?

My wife has known gamers since high school at least. For some reason, they didn't let her play in their games. I finally started up a game this summer with a couple who are friends of ours. Their eldest (9 years old) intermittently joins us but sometimes gets distracted by the other kids'...

On his next move, Jaret spontaneously casts Cure Light Wounds on Marl (instead of Comprehend Languages).

(Adventure) Heroes of The Vesper Peaks (Uriel judging)

Jaret crouches behind the wagon with Asen in it. He readies his greataxe but will be looking for a chance to disable his opponents rather than killing them. If the more martial types manage to keep their opponents engaged, he will spotaneously cast heal spells as needed.
