Would it be okay to trash AoO?

. . . and put them back in, due to popular demand.

    The (quintessential) paladin prestige class

Yes, exclusion does insert an entirely different flavor into campaigns. I never said that it didn't. Both ways are limiting, in very different ways. He's not considering the FEAT irrelvant, he has explicitly stated that its effect on play style is irrelevant. I have demonstrated that it's...

    The (quintessential) paladin prestige class

Jerid. . . I would suppose this is my point. Once you do this, many options for a "normal" adventuring party simply no longer exist, and in their place different options appear. If you're going to insist on dragging an army everywhere you go, there are simply things that you can no longer...

    The (quintessential) paladin prestige class

Unfortunately, a simple look at the economics of keeping large numbers of people fed, clothed, equipped, and rested is the limiting factor here. Yes, Leadership is quite powerful, however, your 16 Cha Paladin, as early 13th level, is going to have 28 people following him around. Not many inns...

    The (quintessential) paladin prestige class

First, I would argue that Leadership is hardly automatically "incredibly powerful." A lot depends on your style of game. If your character isn't the type to "settle down" Leadership has little use, as the economics of maintaining a huge army on the road simply break down. NO "questing...

Would it be okay to trash AoO?

Sure he could, but there would be no point. Just a well-calculated strike (Coup de Gras) and the person is dead and you can move on. And still make four attacks is people make that many mistakes too close to you.

Would it be okay to trash AoO?

This isn't exactly illogical, as he's devoted all his training to this point to making the most of his opponent's mistakes. NOW imagine a 20th level fighter-base character who, in addition to these traits, has taken Great Cleave and Supreme Cleave, with a Mighty Cleaving weapon. The guy is...

Does anyone know if Voodoo3 TV will run NWN?

Well, I suppose there IS always the "Stick it in a freezer and overclock the Hell out of it" approach. Be forewarned that I have no experience in actually doing that, and if you wreck your computer I claim no responsibility. Discuss this with someone who knows what they're doing before even...

Star Wars d20 – share your experiences! (Please)

I get the feeling that this mechanic was designed to make ENEMIES drop more quickly too, but you're definitely right, and here's what I'd generally do about it: Every level, add one point to your Vitality rating. You get slightly more durable every level,. including resistance to Criticals...

Does anyone know if Voodoo3 TV will run NWN?

If you had more RAM on the card I'd be inclined to give a hesitant "maybe" but in this case, no. You're going to need a TNT2 or higher, or a Radeon or higher. Anything less and you're asking for trouble, and with that much less you're practically begging for it.

    The (quintessential) paladin prestige class

I would also like to point out that a low Dexterity is no good for a Paladin either, because it lowers that all-important AC. While heavy armor can compensate for an average Dexterity score, it cannot compensate for a below average one. Thus, this Paladin must essentially be average in one...

Who said the Jedi were celibate? Or even chaste?

. . . . I'd suggest either downloading the preview trailers, or borrowing the movie novelization from the library (A pretty faithful adaption of the movie, actually) to find out tihs one on your own.

How many Jedi were there, anyway?

10,000 Jedi is the cannon number. However, there is ample evidence that Jedi aren't the ONLY guardians of peace and justice in the Old Republic, just the most important / elite. Even a completely peaceful world like Naboo trains and deploys a limited security force, complete with their own...

    two-weapon fighting ?

Page 100 of the first printing of the PHB, reprinted here for your convenience, starting from the beginning of the Heavy Crossbow description, with the relevant sections italicized. While a pistol would not suffer -4 for one-handed use, the other relevant sections still apply. Two-Weapon...

    two-weapon fighting ?

TWF for ranged weapons is a separate feat, and the Ranger doesn't get it. You can still TAKE Ranged TWF separately. That's the word I've heard, anyway. Not sure if that's completely official, but it's still how I'd do it.

    The (quintessential) paladin prestige class

Even in the "deep emersion" playing style balance figures in. At some point all the negatives eventually equate to "This class is not suitable for Core D&D in any form." The vast majority here think that SoaPM's Paladin fits into that category, and have explained why. Two to survive to this...

[NWN] Will it run on a PII-400?

Did you just run the installer, or did you completely wipe the HD first? If the former, it's still effectively an "upgrade" from Windows 98, and still has old junk from that laying around cluttering things up. This thing must have come out right around the time I stopped paying ATi any...

    Non-spellcasting priests?

Perhaps an ability along the lines of "Zealous Battle" that mimics some of the effects of Barbarian Rage, but can only be used under limited circumstances. Just a random thought. (I would definitely say no Con Bonus or extra HP, and only usable against undead, outsiders, or priests of the...

    The (quintessential) paladin prestige class

This is all well and good, but what we have repeatedly tried to point out is that his Paladin gains less for his XP than being a multi-classed Fighter-Cleric. This is more than just not "obtaining the highest modifiers," this is actually a central concern of the entire class-level system, as...
