D&D 5E (2014) On the healing options in the 5e DMG

No. I do not misunderstand you. You are supporting your players right to behave in a socially inappropriate manner; while simultaneously complaining that your players are behaving in a socially inappropriate manner. This is not something the DMG can fix for you. It is a guide on how best...

D&D 5E (2014) On the healing options in the 5e DMG

No. We cannot just assume you are right, because your basic premise is faulty (aside from which, doing so would forgo the need for further conversation). First, social pressure to heal should not stem from the nature on one's class, but from the nature of one's character. Simply put, healers...

D&D 5E (2014) On the healing options in the 5e DMG

I think the heart of this matter is the expectations of the players. Some seem to feel that "healbotting" is an implied part of playing a cleric. Rarely is this implication dictated by the mechanics of the (in game) situation; things like 4e style "lair assaults" being notable exceptions...

D&D 5E (2014) On the healing options in the 5e DMG

Changing the length of time for a "rest" works well, from a balance perspective, as long as you also scale the number of encounters per day. Spells recovering once a week is not a problem if you are facing 6-8 encounters per week instead of per day.

D&D 5E (2014) Halfling rogue sniping from the the second rank

Not all on one turn (assuming one action and one bonus action). If starting the turn hidden; he should be able to attack, then use his cunning action to hide again. But, not use a cunning action to hide, an action to attack and then hide again as it would require an additional action. He could...

D&D 5E (2014) Halfling rogue sniping from the the second rank

Your logic is incomplete; as is your understanding of its implications. If A is unseen by B because of obscurement... It is due to either a lack of awareness ( A's stealth > B's awareness); which means it is possible for B to see A, but has simply failed to do so. Or it is because the...

Apologies, my last post didn't split out as intended, most of the responses were inline, inside the quoted section.

Cover and obscurement are different things, however unless your cover is a glass wall or similarly translucent barrier, it will grant obscurement as well. Also, see above for an example of how being obscured still allows for the possibility of being seen (short of total). Also not that if...

D&D 5E (2014) Halfling rogue sniping from the the second rank

Please cite the "peeking is not allowed" The preview article clearly stated attacking from range using naturally stealthy is allowed. The article continues to cap the power of the ability buy stating the obvious; that the power doesn't grant invisibility and you can't just walk up to someone...

D&D 5E (2014) Halfling rogue sniping from the the second rank

The rules absolutely allow you to peek out of cover. If they did not, hiding would require total cover, full concealment, or invisibility; which it does not. Otherwise, attacking while hidden would require invisibility or a combination akin to total obscurement and blindsight; which would be...

D&D 5E (2014) Halfling rogue sniping from the the second rank

The rule and its intent are both clear and straightforward. It can be used every round (potentially, but not in practice) to provide advantage. "Peeking" to attack does not break the hide until after the attack; walking out to attack from melee would break the hide before the attack. None of...
