    Fixing the Cleric

I really like where you're going with this. But, y'know, that last one isn't just stepping on the warlord, it's a total cop-out. :) Produce Flame is a little odd in that in many situations the miss effect may be preferable to hitting.

    Houserule: Player Rolls Everything

There was exactly such a houserule for 3.5 in Unearthed Arcana. I think your'e right that it might be easier with 4E.

    Am I "that guy" now?

Within reasonable limites, of course. See for example the doctrine of first sale.

D&D 4E The Quest to use the Half-Elf's Dilettante (4e spoilers)

Since that's the state of things in 3.5, surely they must have considered that and intentionally dropped the penalty. I wonder what the process that went into that was.

    When PDFs for sale?

A photocopy or digital image of a receipt sent in should do it. Sure, it's easily faked, but if someone is going to be dishonest, let's face it, they're not going to be going this route anyway.

D&D 4E The Quest to use the Half-Elf's Dilettante (4e spoilers)

yay math So, what's the number that makes it equal? +3? +4? Sounds to me like this should be proposed for the errata, since, like you say, it seems like pretty indisputable math.

    equivalent for priest domains?

My 4E game is going to be undead-heavy, so I'm planning on just giving 'em to clerics for free. We'll see how that works. :)

    Impressions: Most dissapointing class?

clerics I'm most disappointed in clerics. I don't mind at all that they're not the über-class anymore, but I don't like that they've gone even further than 3E away from having deity-specific flavor.

    Impressions: most awesome class?

I had to vote wizard, because it seems to have survived the much-expected nerfing with more flavor intact than I thought possible. I want to play one for the first time since 3E came out.

    When PDFs for sale?

Thanks, Scott. I had been kind of fearing that the whole idea had been pulled. Is there anything left of the idea of discounts for people who buy the paper books too?

D&D 4E Obligatory dump stats in 4e: the irrelevance of Intelligence

There's no point in making them have an ability requirement in the applicable ability, since they don't do anything for you if you don't have a bonus. It might be interesting, though, to make them require the other "masking" ability, because that's what bugs me about all this. (It's all well...

D&D 4E Obligatory dump stats in 4e: the irrelevance of Intelligence

Dammit. I wasn't going to, but now I have to use this rule in my game.

    3d6 for skill checks?

Yeah, I thought about it. It's objectively always better than d20, so it'd be the thing to always use rather than an option. (Not only can you not get a 1, but the average roll is 11 rather than 10.5 as with d20 or 3d6.)

    When PDFs for sale?

So, there's two reasons we might not see PDFs. The one possibility is that key decision-makers at WotC (or maybe even Hasbro overlords) really don't get it and think there's some way to make a genie-proof bottle (so to speak). I think there's a lot of smart and geeky people at WotC, though, so...

0th level, prequel , beginning , commoner. Come inside !

Or go back a step further: Level 0.0: BA only, and you don't have to pick a class. You do get your racial abilites right away, though, and the initial feat. At 0.1, you pick a class and get trained skills. At each sub-level and when you reach 1, you can retrain your starting feats and if...

    Polymorph - Gone?!?

Artifacts are still in the DMG, and they definitely give the mysterious aura you're looking for. If you're wanting all magic items to be that way, D&D really hasn't been the game for you for, I dunno, 25 years at least. The particularly great thing about this reorganization is that with 3E...
