    Paragon Path Multiclassing

At least some of the power swap feats beyond the initial one. Not sure if they'll all go with the next three or beyond. I'm 90% sure, though, that making the paragon multiclass option be in addition to a paragon path is gonna be my second house rule. (Giving a deity-specific feat to clerics for...

    D&D 4E hex rules for 4E?

I was a little surprised not to find an existing thread for this, but maybe I missed it. Has anyone done some rules for using hex grids in 4E? It immediately comes to mind that bursts get scaled down slightly (well, a lot, but in a way that scales with the number of enemies that can be there...

    Paragon Path Multiclassing

I dunno. I think multiclassing as it is is reasonably attractive — certainly several of my players are already telling me that that's their plan for my upcoming game and I haven't house-ruled anything yet. The paragon path requirements could use fixing, and the paragon multiclass trade-off cost...

All Possible Ability Scores for 22 Points

Yeah, although in most cases you'll want that to be at least your secondary stat. I mean, from a min-max point of view, which is why we have this thread at all, right?

    When PDFs for sale?

I want PDFs. I want them to be just like the paper books, so that what I look at on screen is easy to reference later at the game table in the books. I want them to work when I don't have internet access — when I'm travelling, but more crucially, in the MBTA tunnels, as I do much of my prep on...

    Endurance

It's a skill rather than a Fort-defense attack to keep it constitution rather than strength. And I think being able to be trained in it makes sense; something as simple as holding your breath for a long time can be increased by practice. Surviving in difficult environments, even more so.

Poll: Which Wizard 5th daily is best?

Either that or we don't know what we're talking about yet. :)

D&D 4E Obligatory dump stats in 4e: the irrelevance of Intelligence

Keep in mind that the default setting has only a few languages by design. If language has a more important role in your game, a corresponding rule to expand language abilities makes sense.

D&D 4E Obligatory dump stats in 4e: the irrelevance of Intelligence

So, part of the problem is that "warlord" isn't a great name for the class. I don't think "smart, tactical fighter" — I think minor military leader who has carved out a despotic regime in a war-torn region. Barbarian leader, although optionally with at least pretentions to sophistication...

    "2nd party" sources

unhelpful nerd post (sorry) I feel compelled to point out that the "second party" is the customer, so although it's obvious on reading your post that you don't mean that at all, the subject implies fan-created content.

    Paragon Path Multiclassing

It'll be interesting to see if they eventually resort to having base classes which use powers from other classes, or if a class like that will have its whole own set of unique powers (slightly-like-but-different?).

D&D 4E Obligatory dump stats in 4e: the irrelevance of Intelligence

And so, if you want a rogue or archer with high Int, what then? (More problematic than fighter with Int, because you're chosing a secondary stat that's almost completely covered up by your primary stat, not chosing between two secondary stats with slightly different weight.) I guess currently...

How are you going to fix half-elves?

At this point, yeah — since we haven't really played with the non-modified rules for very long yet, there's not too much group knowledge about how modifications might work out.

All Possible Ability Scores for 22 Points

It might not matter so much with +1 to two stats every 4 levels/tier, but 13 is a lot more desirable than 12 for feat access. So, 16 16 13 11 10 8 might be better from a practical point of view — you can then concentrate on putting your every-4 plusses into your top two stats, and the +1-to-all...

D&D 4E Obligatory dump stats in 4e: the irrelevance of Intelligence

Actually, I think it's exactly from a roleplaying consideration that I'm concerned. I don't want a player who chooses to be smart and fast to be penalized for choosing that over smart-strong or smart-tough. Isn't one of 4E's concepts supposed to be that there aren't hidden suboptimal choices...

I bet not. That'd basically be admitting defeat.

fast-smart archetype: brainstorming feats, powers, or new class

So, I understand the basic intention behind having the Dex/Int, Str/Con, Cha/Wis overlap for defenses. It makes me a little bit sad, but okay, from a practical point of view, I can live with it. The main casualty, though, as discussed in a thread on the WotC forums, seems to be the "fast-smart"...

    Paragon Path Multiclassing

Ooh, I like that one. It keeps the "multiclass is your paragon path" feel while still letting you have character build options. But my guess is that future books are going to offer more and more cool paragon paths (like the prestige class explosion in 3E), making giving that option up seem more...

    To Craft and Profess...

I think mostly relatively general, since it's not really intended to be a highly detailed part of the game. Since I expect actually-really-useful circumstances to come up fairly rarely (as they do in 3E, where I've done a similar thing — every player automatically gets max ranks in one such...
