Do We Still Need "Oriental Adventures"?

What? You're the one using coded messages, I think. Please stop attacking me.

Do We Still Need "Oriental Adventures"?

I don't know what virtue signalling is. I know what type of people I normally hear the term from. Frankly I know jack about Australian history. I know that Britain(?) used it as a dumping ground for people. I know that their descendants make up the majority in Australia. I know that there...

Do We Still Need "Oriental Adventures"?

What needs to not happen is a book full of harmful stereotypes. A medieval Asian or Middle-eastern themed adventure certainly could be done, but only with much care. What would be a more interesting book to me would be an Australia themed adventure. Put it on a large continent already...

Pathfinder 2E Paizo Announces Pathfinder 2nd Edition!

I really do hope that this is 5e compatible math-wise. I think that there would be a big market for it. It doesn't even need to be compatible character wise. Just rules and math.

Season 8 will switch to the Organized Play rules presented in XGTE

Looking forward to them implementing this for AL. The only question I've had is how they're going to deal with hardcovers. I think what makes sense is applying a maximum number of milestones reached per chapter. Like for SKT, Chapter 1 would have maximum of 16 milestones. Or Death House for...

D&D 5E (2014) Interesting tidbit from Dragon Talk - Travis Woodall and Claire Hoffman

Another note from that page is that the minis are supposed to launch this month. Another thought on how strict they've been describing seasons. If I'm not being strict, I think of the summer including May - September. If I am being strict, summer this year is June 21st - September 22nd.

D&D 5E (2014) Interesting tidbit from Dragon Talk - Travis Woodall and Claire Hoffman

I'm skeptical of the detail descriptions from Amazon at this point. Until I see an announcement, I'm going to assume that the new Seasons start with the May 29th book and the September 18th book. I'm not going to assume, but I'm guessing that the May 29th book is a book of modules like TYP...

D&D 5E (2014) Interesting tidbit from Dragon Talk - Travis Woodall and Claire Hoffman

It looks like Adventurer's League Season 8 doesn't start until summer. That may reflect the book release schedule. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kED455hvJQo It's a good listen. Gives a lot of insight into how the Adventures League writing process works.

Fantasy Grounds Game Stats for 2017: D&D 5E Up By 6%, Pathfinder Holds Steady!

Starfinder released in August, and we got our big Pathfinder bump in September. That's why I think it might be in those numbers.

Fantasy Grounds Game Stats for 2017: D&D 5E Up By 6%, Pathfinder Holds Steady!

No Starfinder? Or is Pathfinder wrapping in the Starfinder numbers?

D&D 5E (2014) A Proper Ability Score Generation Preference Poll

From an organized play perspective, I really like Standard Array. I really dislike it when guys come in with stats of 15 15 15 8 8 8, which is what point buy gets me.

The State of D&D: Products, Psionics, Settings, & More

That would be a way to do it. There could also be bundling with a book too. They could try lots of different sales models. Curse seems like they're working out well, and the other content delivery partners seem to do the same. And yes, I hope that we're at at least the 8 year mark before...

The State of D&D: Products, Psionics, Settings, & More

Bingo bango bongo. I think next edition there's a chance that digital aids take a front seat. If 6th edition in the mid 2020s is mostly compatible - same math but rewritten classes, races, spells, monsters, and a few more rules options - hopefully we see dndbeyond version of the content...

D&D Reader App Coming This Fall? [UPDATED]

I agree with you on the preferences here, but frankly, happy to let the market sort this out. Fantasy Grounds probably has better features that D&D Beyond, but when I tried it out, I just didn't like it. Am happy and fairly jazzed with with D&D Beyond, and happy with the direction that it's...

    D&D 5E (2014) List the Third-Party 5th Edition Campaign Settings

Added Pugmire. It's really neat how 5e has exploded into a bunch of 3rd party campaign settings.
