    Class list for PHB

I think the release of the Sorcerer and Warlock is a tad premature (both relatively new classes, and synonyms for Wizard), especially considering the Bard, Druid, Monk, Paladin and Ranger, was it done as a knee-jerk reaction to the clamour for non-Vancian casters?

    4th ED Questions

    1) Not true, don't listen to this, Planescape has just as many (more, IME) opportunities for adventure. 2) Me, and many others; in fact, in the campaign I've been running for 7 years the party had to go to Bytopia and draft some gnome help (Garl Glittergold was involved, indirectly). And the...

    D&D 3.x [3.5] within 5 feet/5 feet away

What about 4 tiny creature in one square adjacent to 4 tiny creatures in another square, technically they can't attack (reach) one another (the other tiny guys in the square/5 ft. space next to them).

D&D 5E (2014) Traditional or Historial Arms and Armor

And katanas. Oh, and why on earth is Unarmed Strike not a Finesse weapon?

    Trouble responding to playtest surveys

I thought they cleaned this up, remember the nightmares with the first playtest packet download and survey, odd, that a big company like WotC/Hasbro cannot handle something so simple.

Anyone pick up the 3.5 reprints?

I bought the 1st Ed reprints (even though I have all the original books), they are lovely, if the 3rd Ed reprints are of comparative quality (construction, cover, etc), I will pick them up (even though once again I have the originals); now, are they going to do 2nd Ed reprints? My Red...

    D&D 5E (2014) Playtest This: Red Dragon

I don't think Combat Superiority should be part of a monster's shtick, the fighter finally has his own deal, which people have been clamouring for, best not to diminish it, though who knows, maybe other classes will use it to some degree. Maybe add wing buffet attacks; I could see a 5th Ed...

D&D 5E (2014) What kind of subraces should tieflings have?

Similar thing in 3rd Ed, I forget all the names of the variations (but you have ones of Mechanus blood, and so forth).

    D&D 5E (2014) Changes in Interpretation

Again, it's not, you seem to have a penchant for the word "weird", and appear to be stalking me!

    D&D 5E (2014) Changes in Interpretation

Not true (as Hussar elaborated), and monsters don't have levels in pre-4th Ed, and CR is not accurate.

D&D 5E (2014) What kind of subraces should tieflings have?

Planetouched: celestial (archon, eladrin, etc), demonic, devilish, yugoloth, and others.

    D&D 5E (2014) Defining Traits of the D&D classes

About the Psion, I want it straight out of the gate, or not at all, lest it be the redheaded deal.

    D&D 5E (2014) Changes in Interpretation

Yeah, well, I am also not a fan of where 3rd Ed took the game (number bloat, mathematical silliness). Removing the 4th Ed cancerous 1/2 level bonus to character's and monster's Attacks, Defences, and Skills, helps a lot with those shenanigans.

Mike Mearls: A Paladin, Ranger, and Wizard With Arcane Tradition Walk Into A Tavern

Yep, I have a Chasme Demon descended Tiefling in my current Planescape campaign with multi-faceted eyes and vestigial wings, and a Yugoloth one with 3-eyes, bring back Planetouched.

    D&D 5E (2014) Changes in Interpretation

I do, very much so (hence why I play it); enjoy what you dig, that's what this absurd game is about.

The Bard isn't the jack of all trades... the Ranger is

While I do not at all think spell-casting is integral to the Ranger class, there is a certain panache about the 1st Ed Ranger being able to blap something with a magic missile. Rangers are like Special Forces/Black Ops, very good assassins.

Mike Mearls: A Paladin, Ranger, and Wizard With Arcane Tradition Walk Into A Tavern

Cherry-picking, no RPG explanations for taking the classes (some taken just as a prerequisite for another class), all contrived, meta/power-gaming rubbish. Oh, and a Gold Dwarf Hammer of Moradin, yeah...

    D&D 5E (2014) You can't necessarily go back

Yeah, the downtime could be daunting, and acquiring the materials could be an adventure in itself. I prefer magic item creation to be at the DM's discretion, maybe he/she allows PCs to craft them, or maybe they are beyond the purview of players (in the hands of gods, and NPCs etc).

One of the best parts of 5e thus far is that people are already homebrewing.

Total, I have done monster conversions, and am working on a Monk (largely based off of the 1st Ed one). The basic chassis of 5th Ed is delightful to work with (bounded accuracy rocks, IME).

    D&D 5E (2014) Defining Traits of the D&D classes

Bard: Charm abilities/spells, decent with weapons, inspirational goodies. Druid: Change into animals, cast elemental/weather-related spells, speak with animals and plants, wilderness movement, etc. Monk: No need for armour, enhanced unarmed strike, dodge missiles/breath weapons/areas of...
