Stuff you don't have a problem with, but will never use

And in 1st Ed he was a bit like a druid mixed with psion mixed with thief, he could talk to animals and plants, thief skills, resist ESP/mental attacks, plus his own goodies (dodging missiles, quivering palm etc); I love the monk, and it is most definitely its own deal.

Classed Monsters in the Monster Manual

None, but with the option to slap a class (or features thereof) on any monster I like; Treant Monks rock.

    Total, The Dog Boy "...I can't move...ruff..."

Stuff you don't have a problem with, but will never use

Most are silly, but the lajatang is real, right?

Stuff you don't have a problem with, but will never use

Hey, my bec de corbin wielding gnome kicks ass, to say nothing of my fauchard fork toting elf!

    D&D 5E (2014) You can't necessarily go back

My original 1st printing 4th Ed PHB 1 has not one smudge, maybe there was a bad batch.

    CS refreshes every round.

D&D 5E (2014) With Respect to the Door and Expectations....The REAL Reason 5e Can't Unite the Base

I think they mean not role-playing over a board-game (Chutes & Ladders etc).

Three options for toning down 1st level characters

The max I've seen is 20 (mountain dwarf in plate with a shield).

    New Sorcerors are too "vulgar"

Yeah, the 2nd Ed Bard kicked massive ass (one of my favourite characters is a 2nd Ed Bard in an Al-Qadim campaign with the Rawun kit).

Am I the only one who doesn't like the arbitrary "boss monster" tag?

It was too much, I mean, how do you cope, but I have managed to enjoy 1st Ed since 1986!

D&D 5E (2014) With Respect to the Door and Expectations....The REAL Reason 5e Can't Unite the Base

XP I can live without, haven't used it since 2nd Ed, but I would have a problem with removing HP (not the sauce) from D&D, it would be like removing AC at this point.

Am I the only one who doesn't like the arbitrary "boss monster" tag?

Whenever I have been licked (in either way), I have never used the word "mook". Back in the day (1st Ed), when I wanted to make an Orc extra badass, I would just slap on Fighter levels.

Wo only need the druid class!

I read the thread title as what classes are left we "need". I am actually shocked they released the Sorcerer and Warlock before the Bard, Druid, Monk, Paladin and Ranger.

Sorcerer warlock heritage and maybe even psion heritage

The Sorcerer and Warlock are synonyms for Wizard, so the whole thing is slightly unnecessary.

Three options for toning down 1st level characters

Total, 1st level characters of every edition, save 4th, have had low HP. I can see taking out complexity, but how much could you really lower 5th Ed character's starting HP (just HD, no Con mod)?

D&D 5E (2014) What 5e Dragon type are you most looking forward to?

Lung (Chinese) dragons. I would prefer they keep the proliferation of dragons down in this edition, no puce, beige, tope, and chartreuse dragons, please.

That's no Sorcerer, that's a Paladin (of Bahamut) kinda.. sorta

Total, Lawful Good ones (the only kind).

[Playtest 2] The Madman, the Sociopath, and the Simpleton

So glad I do not play this game with people that approach it that way.
