    Emergency!

Here are four level 6 PCs: a dwarf barbarian, halfling rogue, tiefling sorcerer, and warforged warden. Hope they help.

Warped cousins of Gnomes, twisted by Fomorian magic?

Spriggans appeared in the 1E MM2, the 2E Monstrous Manual, and the 3E Fiend Folio. Redcaps appeared in the 3E MM3. I am sure they show up other places, but those are the places I've seen them. The spriggan's shtick was becoming giant-sized, while redcaps dyed their caps in their prey's blood...

Warped cousins of Gnomes, twisted by Fomorian magic?

I think it's called Australia, mate :) To stay on topic, I picked spriggans too. I like their artwork, and I like combining the redcaps and spriggans of previous editions into one creature, though they seem more redcap than spriggan.

    Dracolich

I think stun is fine when used sparingly. Most dragons can stun via Frightful Presence 1/encounter. The dracolich, however, has an at-will immediate interrupt close blast 3 stun, an encounter stun, and a rechargeable close blast 9(!) stun. That's just retarded. Slow, immobilize, ongoing...

Heroes of Shadow: Assassins, Hexblades, and Necromancers!

Has anyone else seen or heard about this? D&D 4e: The New Player’s Option : Critical Hits Apparently, Wizards is releasing as part of or to complement the Essentials line, and this particular book will include support for assassins, necromancers, and hexblades. Interesting. If anyone else...

The Dark Sun Weapon Breakage Rule - How do you feel about it?

I don't see it being used very often, except perhaps at lower level, or when using a secondary weapon, or if your game uses inherent bonuses and thus you aren't worrying about ruining your magic weapon.

    Need help hitting

Pretty much impossible to do anything about rolling low. Though as you get to higher level, consistently with a roll of 5 is definitely possible. Good feat choice, good weapon choice, maneuvering into flanking position, and help from leaders (esp. warlords) makes it possible. But yeah, time...

    Need help hitting

More info on the ranger would help -- race, build, ability scores in particular. If the ranger has an 19 in Str or Dex (depending on the build) and a +1 or +2 weapon, then there is no substantive reason why she should miss a lot. Expertise is one solution, as can using a weapon with a higher...

    Making Pregens 'Fair and Balanced'

Pick good race/class combos with ability score, feat, and racial power synergy. Go with simple but useful feats -- things like Toughness, Expertise, etc. I think leaders are going to be tough to match, though, in a PvP setting, simply because of their ability to trigger 3 healing surges per...

    Lolth!

Most, if not all, deities to this point have been immune to attacks by characters less than 20th level. So maybe the "god" keyword has that as an implicit feature? Still, I thought that was something they were trying to avoid -- monster features that don't appear in the statblock.

wall of fire + wall of ice

It could be argued that the Wall of Fire deals fire damage to adjacent creatures, and thus may deal fire damage to the Wall of Ice -- which has vulnerable 25 fire and only 50 HP. However, the counter would be that the Wall of Ice is not a "creature", and thus is not a a target of the Wall of...

    Someone has MM3 at RPG.Net

I think Istar means, are there any race write-ups in MM3, e.g., like bugbears and githyanki in MM1, and kenku and bullywugs in MM2. I don't have the MM3, but I believe the answer, from what I read on RPG.net, is no.

Steve Kenson's ICONS: Superpowered Roleplaying from Adamant Entertainment

I first read about ICONS on Greywulf's Lair (along with his subsequent posts on converting Iron Man and a sample combat between Galactus and Thor) and I instantly went and bought the PDF. It reminds me a lot of old Marvel Superheroes RPG, which was my first exposure to the genre way back when...

    Dwarven Monk 4 Advice

A longspear will give you reach 2 with monk powers that have a range of Melee weapon. However, flurry of blows is Melee 1, so you need to take Pointed Step Style to able to use flurry of blows (on one target) at reach 2. Looking at your current power line-up, I don't see any of them...

New character? Hybrid Fighter/Warlord or MC Fighter/Warlord or Warlord/Fighter

Mainly more striker-like powers. But then you'd have to invest more heavily in Dex, which is probably less than ideal. At paragon tier, you can take Deft Blade, which lets you make basic attacks with light blades against Reflex, instead of AC. That is pretty good, esp. since as a fighter you...

New character? Hybrid Fighter/Warlord or MC Fighter/Warlord or Warlord/Fighter

I think it is true that very few fighter powers encourage the use of light blades -- and most of those also can be used with heavy blades or spears. Maybe multiclass into rogue and grab a couple of interesting rogue attack powers? They are all about the light blades, if you want to play up...
