Looking for an aspect of Kord

D'oh, you're right! Sorry for not reading the Ultimate Champion Form more carefully.

Combat Change: Reducing the power of healing

It would seem to me that option 1 would be the best option, insofar as it would have broad impact on all aspects of healing, since most healing powers key off surges, and many of those that do not still use surges as a measure of the increment of healing. It also seems to be the least fiddly...

Looking for an aspect of Kord

If you want to stick to a more traditional view of Kord, you could take the basic premise of Mesh's aspect of Kord -- transforming mid-battle -- and reskin it as such: initially, the aspect of Kord brawls with the PCs, using bare fists and wrestling (a brute form) until he is bloodied, at which...

    Wizard daily power question

Maybe a good house rule would be to make Expanded Spellbook apply to utility spells, and not daily attack powers. EDIT: There is already a feat called Aerenal Arcanist from the EPG. It is specifically for Aerenal elves, but is available to any arcane class, and stacks with the Spellbook class...

    Class Acts: Fighter

I think it is available to anyone that meets the prerequisites. Fighters seem to get the most benefit, simply because they start with a wider range of weapon proficiencies, and many of their powers have special benefits when used with certain weapons.

    Class Acts: Fighter

I think that is why they included the feat Weapon Master, which lets you apply Weapon Focus and Weapon Expertise to all weapons you are proficient in. It does not address the weapon-specific feats, of course, like Hammer Rhythm, Scimitar Dance, and Polearm Gamble, or the epic Mastery feats, so...

    2H Swordmage Warding

This, sir, is awesome. I know this is off-topic, but I love the tidbits like this that crop up all the time on these boards.

    Does the DM guide...

Drow Inquisitors are level 15 soldiers. Would be tough nuts for a level 9 party to crack: AC 31, +22 attack bonus. Does this happen regularly in the game? Maybe your DM just wanted to force you on your heels for a bit, though I am not a big fan of having to rely on NPC allies. If I wanted a...

    Does the DM guide...

The DMG contains guidelines to create monsters. These include hit points, defenses, attack bonuses, and damage. All of these depend on level. Published monsters generally follow these guidelines. At level 9, you'd expect equal level opponents to have ACs from 21 to 25, other defenses around...

Looking for an aspect of Kord

Here's something I whipped up. I went a bit overboard on the storm god theme. And I basically made him into a pro wrestler. He probably should have an immediate action ability of some sort, and I am still working out some sort of "throw one creature at another" ability. The Mighty Contender...

    Howto build a super-healer?

There are a bunch of new feats and powers in Divine Power, plus a new build called the Shielding Cleric, that really fulfill the "super healer" concept. Here is a quick level 11 dwarven cleric (gawd I love the Character Builder) with a heavy emphasis on healing: ====== Created Using Wizards of...

Tell me about your Underdark campaign(s)

I rather enjoyed Empire of the Ghouls as a player. The ghoul empire and the different power groups struggling in the Underdark made it kinda neat.

    Swordmage? Why not a Hammermage?

Can't think of any good reason. Perhaps it was all for story reasons -- the genasi and eladrin are put forward as the "it" races for swordmages, and eladrin especially are all about the swords. Maybe the potential increase in damage output, between craghammers / mordenkrads and Hammer Rhythm...

    Thunderhooves Rage and Pressing Strike

    1. Thunder Hooves lets you move through enemy squares, which you normally couldn't. This still provokes OAs. 2. Thunder Hooves grants you extra damage when you've moved through an enemy. Pressing Strike lets you move through an enemy. I think they'd have to interact. In this case, you could...

D&D 4E 4e Mechanics That Ought to Exist (But Don't Yet!)

They introduced domains for all the deities in Divine Power. What if current (and new) daily powers, say, had special riders for certain domains? Would that be enough, or should the powers themselves be different?

Expanding Roles - was Dropping Roles

I guess I would turn the question around a bit and ask what, specifically, can the current class (and role) system, including multiclassing and the forthcoming PHB3 hybrid class rules, not achieve. Are there things we cannot accomplish with the current system, or that we cannot accomplish...

    Plz advise: shuriken-focused character

An artful dodger rogue is probably the way to go. With the bonus to AC vs. opportunity attacks, you can even sneak in close and use shuriken when threatened, and still be safe. If you are a halfling and/or invest in Defensive Mobility, all the better. Far Throw would improve your range, and...

    Generic (Non-Minion) NPCs

I wouldn't take the 1 HP too literally. When minions fight PCs, they are facing heroes with exceptional abilities and generally murderous intent. There is no toe-stubbing in a battle with PCs -- they're trying to disembowel you or set you on fire. When a minion takes damage in a fight, it is...

    How would you build it?

Revenant for the game mechanics, reskinned as whatever race you want. Esp. with the revenant-related feats that lets you get some a race's feature, it would work really well. Though a divine class devoted the Raven Queen fits real well, I might think about another route, like a battlerager...

Weapon + Shield to 2H Weapon?

4E assumes all shields are strapped to your arm, or rather makes no distinction. It does not matter. Readying or stowing a shield is a standard action, period.
