    Pathfinder 1E An ogre's punch

I checked out the ogre and it seems that it would be DM house rule to either increase the hand to hand damage of the ogre or give it a natural attack. As is it seems the ogre would deal 1d4 in nonlethal damage with its fist (no natural attack is listed). However, most giants do get a natural...

    Immortality... what does it mean?

I like those ideas. Yeah the mental increase but no physical decrease makes sense.

Monsters to use in a "bear baiting" game?

i understand what you mean but i sort of disagree. This is Sigil one of the biggest cities in the multiverse, where devils walk the streets and the lady of pain rules with no mercy. I am sure there are strong enough wizards or fighters to wrangle a few creatures with burrow or fly speeds, or...

Marionnen's Musings: Touch AC and Why it's Irrelevant

If you want simpler than do it to it... But I would disagree that touch AC and reflex are usually the same if you add 10 to your reflex. For some creatures the only defense that contributes to AC is their natural armor. Take that away and they are easier than stones to hit (but their reflex may...

    Immortality... what does it mean?

Some creatures are immortal (all gods, abominations, etc). These creates cannot dies through natural means (though they can be slain). However, many creatures (although it doesnt say they are immortal) cannot die through natural means as well. Devils, angels, demons, undead, some may say...

Marionnen's Musings: Cohorts and Henchmen and Hirelings, Oh My!

Ohh yeah dont forget about golems. There is absolutely no limit to the amount of golems you can own (besides gp) and they are forever loyal. Fang Golems (MM4) are SUPER cheap too (one of the cheapest golems, only druids can make them though).

Monsters to use in a "bear baiting" game?

I might help if you give us an idea of what you have so far. Really im looking through the books and there is seemingly countless cool and interesting fights. I dont know what you want or what your looking. The is a warped dire bear in MM3 (pg. 84) called "Ironclad Mauler" In MM5 (pg. 202)...

    Replenishing Ammo Enhancement

I would say that it is in general underpowered (if it is but on a bow). A bow is already essentially a free action to reload so all this mod would be doing is giving you infinite ammo; something that is practically achievable by just always stocking up on arrows (actually, as a DM even, I hate...

Monsters to use in a "bear baiting" game?

I realize that the remorhaz has the advantage (it even says in the description that remorhaz win more than not). But a frost worm has a chance to win. It has Trill, and does 15d6 with its breath (and if an opponent is trill they get no save on the breath for half damage; 15d6 average damage is...

"So where do Zenythri come from?" "Ya see, when a human and a... hmmm..."

Here is a quote from MM2: "The planetouched discussed here are exceedingly rare.Chaonds are humans with slaadi blood, while zenythris are descended from mysterious beings of law whose identity is only guessed at." They are intentionally leaving the origin of Zenythri mysterious (meaning it is...

Coup de Grace A troll with fire resistance Question

I Dmed a similar campaign. It was a solo campaign I played with my girlfriend. She had like 8 PC's but I controlled half during play (and we usually split up the group and focused on one group during play). She wasnt really into it and mainly played because I wanted to, so I pretty much designed...

Monsters to use in a "bear baiting" game?

Felldrakes in MM2 might be worth browsing. Around 5 to 8 INT and they are cool dragon looking creatures. Also, I know this is from MM1 but consider pitting a Remhoraz and a frost wurm against each other (they inhabit the same type of areas sometimes and in the wild they often fight each other...

Increasing disparity between monster and player initiative

I want to respond without reading any other reply.. so bear with me if I am redundant. I do not think Initiative disparity is too important. Alot of 4e feats give bonuses to initiative (at least 2 do; quick draw and improved initiative). And some races have increased Ini. Also, monsters are on...

    Genetically Modified Humans

Ohh i see what your saying... that a god can simple change the type of creature anyway. Thats not exactly what i meant by reversed. If Chaav wants the modified human to become a regular human then it may happen due to CHaav's magic. But this is an effect of Chaav's magic. What I sort of meant...

    Genetically Modified Humans

Yeah... and the people who acheived this modification probably used transmutation magic. Heck maybe ill create a spell that makes a fetus or growing baby into a modified one. Also, if we bring epic level spells into the equation pretty much anything is possible. But wish spells undo most spells...

    Genetically Modified Humans

i feel you they are quite dull. I am more than willing to give them more abilities (maybe some excrete a sticky substance from their hands that make them climb better, etc etc). And I am up for suggestions. I could make a list of like 20 flavorful skill increases (abilities) that arent to...

    Genetically Modified Humans

Also, knowing humans of earth, humans of a D&D universe will be interested in eugenics. ANd considering D&D humans have access to magic they are going to be much better at achieving the ends of eugenics (which is an increased, stronger, smarter, human). So, rather than being implausible or...

    Genetically Modified Humans

yeah i realized tha the half-orc is probably unbalanced. My forum post was originally going to be title "Half-orc... too weak" but I decided to get to my main point about these humans I want to make available yeah i understand your concersn. this campaign will be high tech and magic. This...

Marionnen's Musings: Cohorts and Henchmen and Hirelings, Oh My!

Oh yeah there is a psion Prestige class called the Thrallherd (i think) and it gets an improved form of leadership as a class ability. Instead of adding your character level and your CHA you add your character level plus your CHA plus your thrallherd levels (it leadership alittle better; but you...

Marionnen's Musings: Cohorts and Henchmen and Hirelings, Oh My!

I am sure others have already mentioned these things but I will go ahead and mention them too. I actually was part of this bad ass group that specialized in having minions. We had a town and ALL the members where loyal to one party member or another. 3.5e caters to the person who wants minions...
