I think when his entire post is taken into context (all four tweets) it’s pretty clear to me he wasn’t salty at his own game. Folks are free to interpret as they please.

I don't think I've ever done this. Something about it never worked for me. I associated PCs with certain campaigns, and with all the ideas I've had for PCs, I've always seen it as an opportunity to play a new one.

This is why I like to distinguish whether something is a "retroclone" or not. A retroclone to me is trying to emulate a specific edition of a system, with some polishing up and maybe errata that had been sprinkled throughout, maybe a few standards included. But that's just my particular definition.
