Is There Possibility of a PF1.5 or a 3.5 Revival? Whether Directly or Something With Similar 'Ethos'

To some extent, some players have been. It was supposed to be (and corrected to by edit) OSE. Old School Essentials. Which is a selection bias on the part of local game stores.

    GM fiat - an illustration

Which is a strongly playstyle dependent claim. I've long been a highly procedural, somewhat literalist¹ GM. In D&D, the encounter checks are once per [10min] turn unless instructed otherwise. This leaves the encounter clock essentially fixed a hh:00, hh:10, hh:20, hh:30, hh:40, and hh:50...

What Does Your Dream VTT Do/Look Like?

Standard computer mice are (by IEEE standards) three buttons - left, center, and right. Many combine a scroll wheel with the center button.

The Pater Noster is 6 of the 59 beads of the Dominican Rosary, and 9 of the Dolour's Rosary's 50-some. (those are the two most common Rosaries in Catholic use, with the Dolour Rosary common in convents, but the Dominican being the one almost everyone things of. The most common prayer in both is...

Final Fantasy XIV Getting an Official TTRPG

Some further thoughts... Character Generation is lots of details in places that don't have much mechanical impact, and one big choice that has HUGE impact: Job. I was hoping to run it for my online group - in such cases, I typically do cheat sheets with character gen in a minimal version...

    Non-magical fantasy subways

Pater Noster is "Our Father"... the name of the most common Christian prayer, and the first clause of said prayer, and the Elevator type was supposedly so named because people were said to be praying it before getting on.

Must You Tell Your Players What Adventure You Are Running?

That I'm using a published adventure? Yes. Which? No, but I tend not to hide it.

    What RPGs genres are lacking?

Ironically, physical undead aren't that common per the books. Sure, you have the guys who wake up with a Manitou keeping them out of the grave, and they are undying in a way not too different from Milo Morai - given time anything heals, don't particularly look dead... But sever the neck... and...

For those doing TTRPG online, what are your reasons?

These guys haven't gotten much better about comms discipline since 2016. I've given up hope on that score. I had proper Civil Air Patrol comms training... some fights aren't worth fighting.

    Non-magical fantasy subways

I've seen the USN training film of a beautiful #3 catch-wire trap (carrier's aircraft arresting gear) failing and causing an involuntary bolter (missed landing) ... and slicing a crewman where he shouldn't have been in half... just before the camera takes the other end. It was either Korea or...

What's the best fantasy game for solo play?

There are three modes currently in use... Paragraph driven solos Oracle Solos railroad solos Paragraph Driven: read the paragraph, make the choice, go to indicated paragraph, sometimes fighting the fights. Oracle Solos: when in doubt, find a suitable table and roll on it. It's a more fully...

What magic system that uses some form of power points (e.g. casting spell x costs 3 points) is your favorite?

Same. With Rolemaster's "SP = SL" a close second... but note also: about 2/3 of all classes have magic. Most of the class-feature-heavy concepts get spells instead, since RM has no class features... classes just determine what spells and what the skill costs are. My real preference for magic...

Is There Possibility of a PF1.5 or a 3.5 Revival? Whether Directly or Something With Similar 'Ethos'

I converted a campaign to 3.0 from Cyclo+Gaz... the changes in capability were rather profound. We went from a mix of 6th to 12th to mostly 10th... We had to double convert - Cyclo has conversions to AD&D2, and 3E had a conversion booklet from AD&D 2 to 3e... the move to more skill-centric play...

    Non-magical fantasy subways

The issue with natural fiber (and most synthetic fiber) ropes is springiness vs friction+inertia. On a long enough run, the rope won't move the train for up to several seconds, then elastic rebound jerks as inertia is overcome... whiplash is not fun. Also, if the rope's elastic limit is...

For those doing TTRPG online, what are your reasons?

In decreasing importance: We find the lack of visual input due to audio only to require more words than when we can see each other We wind up repeating due to someone having noise at home interfering with comprehension. (None of us live alone.) Due to no faces visible, people talking over each...

    What RPGs genres are lacking?

It's alt-history, with hints of Native Magic. It also has the "Five Civilized Tribes" aka the Sioux Confederacy as a functional nation-state, and the CSA surviving the USCW. It is mechanically similar to Hackmaster, so crossover critters are easy. As for the post-apoc... T2K, the war went nukes...
