    Blinding Barrage Question

First instance of internet sarcasm I've been able to see! Yay! The basic 'rule' is that for each time you roll a d20, you expend an arrow/bolt/dagger/shuriken/axe/hammer.

    D&D Insider! UP ! (merged)

Anyone having problems logging into the D&D site? I keep getting timed out by the server. =/

    Slip and slide

Yup, there's no size limits to forced movement. That said, it is a reduced effect against larger creatures. If you can push a creature 3 squares, that's 300% for medium, but only 75% for Gargantuan. Also, in order to fall or anything, the whole creature must be pushed off the cliff, etc.

D&D 4E 4e Ranger: New God of Damage? Armor Splinter + Blade Cascade + High Wisdom Ranger

Yes, the ability is powerful. So is Orcus. During the fight with him and his horde of undead, any Ranger with a history of pulling this off will most likely be singled out. The options Orcus has, outside of undead horde: Wand of Orcus: 3d12+12 that cause target to be weakened (half damage...

    Lava question

Lava isn't mentioned anywhere as being insta-kill in the core books. That said, I'm thinking something along the lines of 5d10/round, and it counts as difficult terrain.

    Half-Elf vagueness -Dilettante Abuse?

It says you can take an at-will power. While this might be taken to mean "Any power that can be used at-will," it means the four at-will powers that each class can choose from. For example: You can't take Mage hand, Lay on Hands, Divine Challenge, etc. etc. I mean, you don't even get those...

How much information will you give to players about Skill Challenges?

I really haven't decided yet. On the quiet side: There's a good chance that the player's will have no idea what's going on. On the loud side: "Welcome to the Escape Skill Challenge! Come on down and roll us some DC 17 checks!" Maybe that's a bit extreme, but that's what I imagine happening...

    Clarification Question on Basic Attacks

It's intended I'm sure. But look for the 4E equivalent of Weapon Finesse in the new Martial book.

    Potential Wizard Combo

You can occupy one of the squares the gate is in without going to the other gate. It has to be a voluntary action.

How do you determine minion damage?

What I plan on doing is just looking at the creature it's based on and taking average damage. Odd that there are no minion rules in DMG...or swarms... *cry*

Multiclassing, Skill Trainining, and Rangers thoughts and oddities.

At first I was going to prove you wrong... but all of them require a style of fighting the feat doesn't give you. So when's the next version of the Ranger multiclass feat? I think we may have a leader in "Most Errataed thing in 4E!" Polymorph beware...

    4E Art Direction--Yay or Nay

The 2 page art spreads are absolutely amazing. They also make it really easy to pick out chapters. The thing I'm still trying to get used to is not having a background. It does look a lot neater, but it's almost got a hospital feel. Other than hospitals, the only art I actively dislike is...

    Some rule clarification please?

A wizard starts out proficient with cloth armor (everyone wears clothes, right). Armor is now a feat tree. To climb, you spend one feat. Cloth-> Leather-> Hide -> Scale -> Plate Note: Chainmail still exists, it branches off of leather or hide. A wizard wearing plate armor would have +8 AC...

    Some rule clarification please?

Decking out your mage in full plate is probably a bad idea. With light armor, you can add your Dex or Int to AC. Can't do that with Heavy Armor. Oh, and 4-6 feats. Other than that, there's no downside to wearing armor. As for what book: Everything the player will need is in the PHB.

    First rule I don't like

Thank you for coming up with the house rule in the first place. ;) Not that I'll ever get to use it. If it's ugly enough, my party kills it. :(

    Some rule clarification please?

Magic Item Creation is handled by a single ritual now. You pay the gold, do the ritual, get the item. Also, the #1 thing stopping a wizard from running up to the front line blasting: He will get creamed. Wizards are no longer the walking tanks they used to be.

New Critical Hits... good or bad?

Ah, I didn't forget about it, I just thought that was self-explanatory by now. By "New," I meant changed since the preview.

Characters don't get a usable Pact from the Pact Initiate feat.

I think you might have figured it out, but you get the at-will power. You do not get the Pact Boon from the multiclass feat.

New Critical Hits... good or bad?

Back in the day, with the Critical Hits preview it was said that a natural 20 is a critical, end of story. Now, Critical Hits have changed a tad bit. A natural 20 is still an automatic hit, but it's only a critical if your overall attack would beat the defense you're attacking. So basically...
