    Holmes in my D&D: dealing with Perception+Insight optimization?

    This is one reason I dislike "passive" Perception and Insight allowing players to "take a 10" with no constraints. All other skills in 4e require that the PCs take several minutes to "take a 10", but these don't. With that, one good way to break this a bit would be to have the PCs under stress...

    Sword Coast Legends Survey; Plus Ranger Feedback Results!

    I'll have to compare it against the homebrew subclass I was toying with. Mine probably ended up with a little too much of the 4e mentality, as I made the various Aspects pretty easy to achieve (hint my idea was to make it a Barbarian subclass) and toyed with making it a limited caster.

    Good to see. I was caught pretty off guard by the WotC forums dying and because 4e is my favored edition, I wanted to make sure all the great write ups for it are at least still around somewhere.

    And that was considered one of the single worst builds in all of 4e. Call me crazy, but I like Rangers as a bit more "Nature Paladin". D&D has never really had a natural warrior class (outside of the Warden) that isn't overly reliant on shapeshifting. I'd love to see Rangers get broken apart...

    Bit of a necro, but I only now just found out that the WotC forums are dead. How many of the 4e Handbooks made it? Any others that are "saved" but not formatted for the new forums? What can I do to help save information about the Edition I love?
