    Optimising versus Roleplaying

The who, in the what, for the why, now? I've been gaming a long darn time, and I have no idea what a "Stormwind" is nor why the notion that (if I read the OP correctly) "some powergamers also roleplay" is being called a fallacy. Count my vote under the column labled "Won't Understand What You...

    D&D Brand Dilution

Personally, I can't even comprehend calling something that isn't D&D or AD&D "D&D." Maybe "kind of like D&D" (T&T, ArsM, or any of several others) or "a derivative of D&D" (PF and HM at least).

Is the omission of certain material a violation of the GSL?

IMO, leaving out stuff is fine. The GSL is, in part, meant to allow the publication of adventures, after all, and not every adventure can include everything in the GSL. [EDIT: Argh. I mean in the SRD. GSL = terms and conditions for using WOTC's property; SRD = property that can be used.]

Linking pages in the PDF - nice!

Well, thanks again for the compliments; I'm always glad to hear it's worth the effort. :) I've also tried to make sure that each time another place in the document is mentioned in running text, that's a hyperlink too. That should be true for each time a page number is specified, at least. If...

Thanks. It seemed like a good idea at the time. :)

2 Years of Eric Noah + 8 Years of Morrus = 10 years of EN World!

Been lurking here for quite a while, apparently (at least, that's how it started), so Happy Anniversary and Many Happy Returns.

    Uncannily prescient PCs.

Two from me, one as a player and one as a DM. I was a player in a convention game (a small local convention) some years ago, and the scenario was somebody's homebrew 2nd Edition thing called "Hunt the Tarrasque." Seems that Big Boy had been awakened somehow, and the Knowledgeable Contact who...

    Kalashtar and the Triliths...

Well, I haven't worked the writing at all, I'm just brainstorming. That little detail escaped me! Because of the time scale involved, I had actually been thinking the present-day trillith are descendants... somehow... of the beings the kalashtar escaped, or that the trillith are, though new...

    Kalashtar and the Triliths...

More spoilers than a Formula-1 track! They're behind a couple of major beats in the saga -- problems the heroes really need to overcome in order to bring the thing to an acceptable conclusion. There's one coming up in Adventure Four, for instance, that's essentially in control of all the...

    Kalashtar and the Triliths...

Still way spoiler-y! In general, the trillith do not have the heroes' best interests in mind. Many actively work against the heroes, and their overarching agenda is not conducive to the, how shall we say, continued existence of the physical world. Any of it.

    Kalashtar and the Triliths...

Well... ... and not to put too fine a point on it, but this is a great honking spoiler for the campaign arc ... Seeing as how the trillith are spawned from the dreams of a great gold dragon, whom, they believe, they must keep entrapped in magical slumber so that they can continue to exist, and...

WotBS Errata for WotBS #3: Shelter from the Storm

Because I didn't actually write the thing, I'll note for completeness's sake that this is my take on it after simply reading it and mulling it over a bit. If it's a typo, it's a typo, but if it's not.... At this point in their journey, the heroes are probably a little wary but not averse to...

    WotBS WotBS 3: Map Question

That's actually a really good idea. One of those "I coulda had a V-8!" moments. I'll look into it.

WotBS Errata for WotBS #3: Shelter from the Storm

Personally, I take this sentence to mean that Iz has been approached by Ragesian diplomats/agents and has chosen a guarded stance... neither accepting anything from them nor (more importantly) offering anything, because, hey, we're all in the same boat. In this, Iz appears to share Megadon's...

    WotBS WotBS 3: Map Question

Here is a more detailed map of Dassen, from Adventure Four. Seaquen is not on this map, but it should be easy enough to figure out where it is based on the map in the Campaign Guide. :) I don't think there are any spoilers on this map, but it doesn't hurt to warn anyone actually playing through...

    WotBS Errata for WotBS #2

If you want to make Intimidate particularly punishing, that should be "and negates a success," of course, and the sentence is thus tied to using Intimidate in the first place. If you'd rather go easy on the heroes, delete "and negates a" and treat the sentence as flavor text explaining the -2...
