Upcoming Superhero RPGs Coincidence or Zeitgeist

And let's not forget that some species know how to handle their alcohol. Ex. Dwarves and the Pandaren.

D&D General What Is D&D Generally Bad At That You Wish It Was Better At?

Much like how 5e allows everyone to fight with two weapons simultaneously while allowing those with the TWF Fighting style to get the damage bonus for their offhand weapon.

Upcoming Superhero RPGs Coincidence or Zeitgeist

Roll for Perception and Insight. ;) Some of the supers in a superhero RPG make use of magic or rely on a magical artifact. If you dropped Dr. Strange into a D&D setting, how different would he be from that setting's most powerful spellcasters?

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D Marilith Is Far More Bestial In 2025

True. Eventually they'll find out on their own or someone else will point it out to them. Nice :) I am six months shy from my 55th (most of them in Michigan).

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D Marilith Is Far More Bestial In 2025

There aren't that many people today who know or are even aware of the bounds set down by 1e. That would require a History check. ;) It's more likely that people are going to assume the D&D edition they were first introduced to sets the bounds of what came later.

D&D 5E (2014) Captain Skybeard the Torrential Corsair Is A New CR8 Villain

Had to ask because of his swirly beard. ;)

D&D General What Is D&D Generally Bad At That You Wish It Was Better At?

One reason why I took a liking to Laser Llama's version of the Ranger class. https://www.gmbinder.com/share/-M7iu19Af89SH2G_5RGa Its' Knacks feature allows for more customization for your Ranger character, and they are a prepared half-caster. How about a game where each class has class...

Upcoming Superhero RPGs Coincidence or Zeitgeist

My go to Superhero RPG would have to be Mutants and Masterminds 2e. I like the level of customization it offers when designing superpowers.

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D Marilith Is Far More Bestial In 2025

Same here. I wonder if any of the other monsters in the new Monster Manual are jealous at all the attention 'she' is getting. As for staying on topic, so far there has been talk on demonic biology, demonic reproduction, demonic gender identity... :p Demonology 101 stuff.

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D Marilith Is Far More Bestial In 2025

I know. Why has there been so much focus on this particular monster again? Every monster since 1e has their looks and their lore played around with by every design team that has worked for TSR/WoTC. As for adhering to older canon from earlier editions, people are free to do so. There is no...

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D Marilith Is Far More Bestial In 2025

The lore might be no longer relevant to everyone who participates in D&D, but it's still relevant to a few for a number of reasons. A topic for another thread.

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D Marilith Is Far More Bestial In 2025

This is the Marid from the 2014 Monster Manual. The 2024 one is just as fishy to me. :p

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D Marilith Is Far More Bestial In 2025

Has there ever been a thread on these forums where everyone stayed on topic from start to finish? 😋 Nope! 😋 There's always something in one or more posters' replies to sidetrack us. That's how threads such as this one last so long. I certainly don't believe it will replace any other pics of...

    D&D 5E (2024) 5e24 MM concept art

When I looked at the Bugbear at the beginning of this thread, one of my thoughts was 'now I know why they might be mistaken for bears.' 😋 A naked Bugbear in the woods does look a little ursine from its' backside.

    D&D 5E (2024) Removing Concentration

True, this thread's topic is about removing concentration and how it would affect gameplay. However, like so many threads here on EN World, it gets sidetracked by those of us who want to comment on something another poster said in their post.

    D&D 5E (2024) Removing Concentration

Destiny, the reason why your character left behind their rather 'safe' livelihood for the life of an adventurer. The character wanted to prove to themselves and others that they got where they are now through grit, skill and determination. They set out to become the best they could be. Or life...

    D&D 5E (2024) 5e24 MM concept art

I am feeling a little torn between liking the 2024 concept art of the Bugbear and the Bugbears from the Baldur's Gate 3 game. Both of them look pretty good to me. ☺️ :p I am currently playing a 6th-level Ranger (Gloom Stalker)/4th-level Rogue (Scout) Bugbear.

    D&D 5E (2024) Removing Concentration

I am kind of glad that 2024 D&D is trying now to cover all three adventuring pillars- combat, exploration and social interaction. But it's way behind Level Up in terms of coming up with class features that cover all three pillars.
