Hi!
Last session, the party encountered a mob of evil priests, led by a mistress of shrouds (Libris Mortis, page 46), who in the ongoing fight attempted to summon a spectre due to her class ability Summon Undead.
As one of the PCs damaged her while invoking the spell-like ability of hers...
Hi!
I'd like to know if I, as the DM, ruled correctly that a Silence, cast on the floor (a grid intersection) of a cave, would not be affected by the Spell Resistance of a character standing in the affected area at the time of casting the Silence?
The Rules of the Game: Spell Description...
Hi, fellow spellcasters!
I've a question regarding the interaction between Living Undeath (Miniatures Handbook, p. 37) and Grave Strike (Complete Adventurer, p. 150).
Last session the party encountered a large group of evil priests, (mostly) all of them under the effect of a Living Undeath...
Hi!
Maybe you want to consult your Stronghold Builders Guidebook (3.0)?
Page 41: Spell: Augment Object (Break DC +20, Hardness x2);
Pages 42 and following: Doors, Windows and Locks;
Page 51: Improved Arcane Lock (You may include other characters than "you" to pass the ALed door freely);

Luckily, the FAQ does not provide house rules if it don't writes "This is a house rule and not official material." Ergo, the answer provided in the FAQ is not a house rule, but regally official. ;) And, most important, it eases things up a lot.
Enjoy
Hi, Patryn!
Thanx for being very blunt. :lol:
But that's just the reason behind my post. :D The FAQ doesn't have it wrong. It makes sure you can adjudicate the ramifications of the Mirror Image spell better for all purposes, such as the "popping out".
I like the answer in the FAQ.
Kind regards
Hi!
As the FAQ indicates, it's impossible to benefit from an item that buffs your ability scores if you have a 0 in a particular ability score. I.e., Gauntlets of Ogre Power do not work on a creature that is damaged to 0 Strength. So, no, your old wizard can't profit from any Amulet of Health...
Hi!
Don't know if I'm getting the FAQ right, but it states:
a) "For all intents and purposes, the figments from a foe's mirror image spell are your foes."
b) "All figments occupy the same square(s) as the caster of the spell."
Guided by item a), I allowed to "pop out" the MIs... :heh:

Hi!
IMHO, it shouldn't!
The amount of additional damage is based on a runebone. The rules (as written) don't allow for continuous damage, because there's no specification to do more damage than the runebone crafted beforehand allows.
In addition, the third paragraph of the Benefit entry...
Hi!
Thanee (and others) got it right, I think. ;)
IMC, a player has made up her DD with 1 level as sorcereress and 4 levels as fightress. She chose the spiked chain and the Enlarge Person spell. That's how to impress foes.
Kind regards
Yes, that's it! I'm sorry to be so vague. The Heal check DC to stop the effect is equal to spell's save DC (and if no save was allowed, then calculate a "virtual" saving throw DC to determine the Heal check DC).
Kind regards
So to say.... :D
No DM out there, who has used a Master of Shrouds lately and wondered as I did? I mean, there're better (?) feats in the Libris Mortis to be used as prerequisites for the MoS PrC, like Necromantic Presence/Might. Hmm, I wonder if I change the "entrance policy" for MoS.

A grave salute from the depths of the vaults....
... ahem.... :D
Why is it that I'm stunned at the sheer crazyness of having to obtain the Augment Summoning feat to accomplish to be a Mistress of Shrouds [PrC, Libris Mortis, p. 46]? That feat gives any summoned creature (and in that instance...
Hi!
According the Races of the Wild, p. 168, Table 7--2: Armor, you can have!
Shield, mithral tower, 1,030 gp, AC +4, MDB +4, ACP -7, ASFC 40%, 50 lb. (but that must be wrong; it should weigh 22,5 lb.).
Enjoy!
Hi!
"... on saving throws against spells and spell-like abilities."
Since it's not further specified which kind of spells are to be excluded from this class feature, it's all spells. A further indication for you might be that even spell-like abilities are affected, which are normally neither...
Hi!
Not to be found! It just wasn't introduced retroactively by WotC due to an erratum. Further, it wasn't deleted, either, just like the spell Embrace the Wild [Dru/Ran] from the same book.
As my fore-posters wrote: MM 2, page 209, templates as appendix (in the 3.0 order). Let me remind you...
