WotC Would you buy WotC products produced or enhanced with AI?

LLMs as a turboboosted search engine doesn't bother me too much ("Hey Google, hiw do I get an HTML page to do X?"), but the "aside from the ethical concerns: is a pretty huge aside ("aside from theassasination, Mrs. Lincoln, how did you enjoy the play???") ...and aside from ethics, the legal...

Right, but the conversation is about how WotC has taken innovative risks in their 5E books. Which they have, to sometimes controversial results.

Well, respectfully, thst is exactly my point: I haven't run it, so I don't have a fully formed jusgement on it, but that Adventure/Setting hybridization with a full four year College career campaign is really innovative (innovation doesn't mean it will work or not, just that it is trying...

Dragon Delves to Return to Godsbreath, a Journey Through the Radiant Citadel Setting

It really is a delightful anthology, with some really innovative ideas and themes thst can fit in a lot of campaigns.

Dragon Delves to Return to Godsbreath, a Journey Through the Radiant Citadel Setting

Nothing about Godsbreath preclude dragons, or anything else in D&D: it is a pretty wide open High Fantasy Setting, even if it has a distinct flavor of it's own.

Well, no, my point is that when a product innovated, it is often attacked for being different: Strichaven, in particular might be one of the most innovative products of the entire dang edition in terms of structure snd content.

WotC Would you buy WotC products produced or enhanced with AI?

I mean, LLMs aren't actually AI either, so I would personally like to clarify that LLM tools are what is objectionable, since "AI" does not actually exist

WotC Would you buy WotC products produced or enhanced with AI?

Well, there is some serious ambiguity in the term. Do I mind certain computer aidee tools, like spellcorrect? No. Generative text or art, however, are a hard absolute no.

It is worth noting how vicious some corners of tge fandom get towards products that try something different, such as Strixhaven or The Deck of Many Things or Van Richten's Guide to Ravenloft

WotC Would you buy WotC products produced or enhanced with AI?

Nope. Absolutely not. Hard no. Never. I've experimented with generative AI a bit myself, and while interesting it is utterly unethical for commercial applications, and would suck to boot.

Well, while I do agree wirh your point, there is definite immolation on the Indie scene: the whole Powered by the Apocalypse engine arose from small time publishers to start with, and that is onw of the major streams of modern TTRPGs.

One does wonder what the Venn disgram overlap of the Doomsayers over this turn of events and huge fans of Crawford's Sage Advice happens to be...I'm guessing it is a low overlap.

    Wheel of Time S3

It is increasingly clear as tge books go on ho× much od a hardcore Grognard (as in, old school wargamer) Jordan was at West Point, and yeah, going for the Wizard is a pretty Wheel of Tine strategy

Rumor has it that Hasbro &as been offering early retirement packages: maybe they got promoted, abd doubt after 6 months that they qualified for early retirement in their new pay grade after 6 months. That would be tempting, and more plausible than most Doomer scenarios.

James Wyatt On Dragon Delves' Solo Adventures

I really liked how fresh a take it is on a D&D Setting, while also being something where I could see running whole fairly normal D&D Campaigns. Nice balance.
