Goodman Games Revives Relationship With Anti-Semitic Publisher For New City State Kickstarter [UPDATED]

To be perfectly frank, amd not to eliminate that whole can of worms...this IMO is in a way more out there league than anything WotC could ever conceive of doing. Their lawyers would never, ever let them.

D&D Debuts Playtest for Psion Class

Extremely doubtful that they intend to include ten Wild Talent themed Backgrounds in the FR book.

D&D Debuts Playtest for Psion Class

Know? Nope. But August seems a pretty decent guess based on prior hiatory: a good time frame to preview the books in the back half of the year. The Psion UA feels further off, though, as they are probably being more careful and longterm with a new Class.

What Game Publishers Are Saying About The Tariffs

Basically nothing, compared to the costs of starting up a printing operation...will be interesting to see what comes from it!

D&D Debuts Playtest for Psion Class

I think the 2014 Spell point variant is probablyfine...but Gary Gygax's ancient, cranky criticism of the very idea of Spell Poonts still applies: very fiddley and annoying in practice, open to abuse.

    D&D 5E (2024) Chance for a warlord?

Well, mostly new....James Wyatt is currently the senior developer on hand, and he was involved in 4E and both 2014 and 2024 rules.l design.

    D&D 5E (2024) Chance for a warlord?

What would Subclasses for a Warlord be...? 4 distinct Subclasses seems like the floor for a new Class.

D&D Debuts Playtest for Psion Class

More than players, even, it was DMs who reacted angrily to having to deal with whole new systems from PCs.

D&D Debuts Playtest for Psion Class

In AD&D there were a lot, in 4E they narrowed it down to 10. And Dark Sun is the distinct place where "Wild Talents" are a whole Thing.

D&D Debuts Playtest for Psion Class

Yup, they feel different, but they are largely the same: the internet interactions are both what grounds them in relation to the other options, but also males this Class distinct.

    Arrive AT or Arrive TO?

This is gold: "The distribution of verbs among at, to, with, of has been idiosyncratic and varied." https://www.etymonline.com/word/to

D&D Debuts Playtest for Psion Class

It was always meant to echo stuff like John Carter of Mars...so, weird fiction Psi stuff goes in. Also to be a flagship for AD&D Battlesystem, it nobody ever talks about that, sooooo... 4E Dark Sun had 10 Wild Talents, and the Ad&D ser included a couple with similar names to this batch.

Yup, I believe that is thr conclusion thst the Kickstarter Backers reached some time ago.

Judges Guild Makes Statement About Goodman Controversy [Updated]

Thing is, something similar does seem to have happened with Judges Guild...but the stakes are way smaller, and the evidence if fraud versus incompetence is thin.

D&D Debuts Playtest for Psion Class

I think calling something that is not a fallacy by a made-up fallacy name is bad rhetoric, if not quite a fallacy.

D&D Debuts Playtest for Psion Class

I seriously question the very premise that "most people" ignore any given rule. "The five tables I play at ignore a rule" is a far cry from proving "most." Especially components, where managing those narratively is very impactful in combat.

D&D Debuts Playtest for Psion Class

Spell components are not a dysfunctio al rule, however, they work very well at the table in play in my experience.

Goodman Games Revives Relationship With Anti-Semitic Publisher For New City State Kickstarter [UPDATED]

It is less than 2000 people following the new project: that is less than half the backers for Thracia, for example. Not a huge crowd in the grand scheme of things.

    D&D 5E (2024) Where to next, WotC?

Thing is, we know the Forge of the Artificer won't have these Backgrounds...we know how many there are now, and itmoatly Dragonmarked Backgroudns. I doubt that the FR book will spend ten Backgroujds on Wild Talents, I really do. Dark Sun, meanwhile...that would fit like a weird fiction glove.

D&D Debuts Playtest for Psion Class

Not particularly: some Psionic stuff is in the Color Blue in general, but it is not a strong overall theme anywhere in Magic to my knowledge. Given the centering of Wild Galents that seem at least somewhat similar those in 2E and 4E Dark Sun? Really strong chance they are at least pondering...
