I didn’t say they were flops, so please don’t put words in my mouth. Being in a movie that did well does not necessarily mean all their other movies will do well. Thora Birch was in American Beauty and Marlon Wayans was in Scary Movie. The first movie was still trash.

Unfortunately this movie seems to have C-grade casting written all over it. I mean, that’s no different to the other D&D movies, but I did have higher hopes initially.

Prepainted D&D minis have made it a lot simpler to have fantastic looking combats. Tile battle mats have replaced the traditional battle mats, ensuring we never go off the edge of the mat. Bluetooth speaker and a mobile phone with various soundtracks for music to accompany sessions.

Funnily enough, I have zero interest in ICP or Slipknot. The creepy horror really speaks to me though.

It’s also likely that COVID has shifted a lot of play online and many RPGers feel like a map is a must for online play, so demand for VTT maps has likely increased.

Thanks for the story Ed. Everything I’ve read and heard about the original TSR workplace suggests it was a crazy, but very fun place to work. It would be rare to get that many writers and artists all in the one workplace.

Even then, pretty well is still only earning enough to not have to take a second job on the side. There aren’t many people earning even a middling income in RPGs, let alone a good income.

I’ve backed several of these from Phil. Generating new ideas is where I struggle. So, at $1 for the PDFs, even if I only get a couple of ideas to work off from this, it’s a total win for me.
