@Spencer the DM welcome to the site. It is an old thread, but one not seen by many that visit here so no problem. I wonder if now 23 years later, this thread is seen more as a problem to make comments on/in. I have no problem making crude punnies, but think some might in today's society.

If people want to play heroes, then just start at a higher level. If you are talking about starting off, just roll for scores instead of standard array. I used to do it when we were 12 and everyone had an 18. Then we tried 3d6 and 1d8 to make them a bit more, more. But 5e does take power...

Nobody wants to make the hard choice. Like when there is a poll and people place the squishy 'maybe/sometimes' choice in it, instead of making people just choose yes or no and sticking to it.

I think there should be growth in the game. A lot of movies and books have the 'chosen' one not know it and good movies have some sort of setback and then growth before Rocky can beat Apollo/Clubber/Drago/etc... Bad movies have the chosen just be able to use the force better than Luke from day...

I would like it to be entertaining, but the last several things have not been more than meh. It looks like a bit of making the suit like Tony Start and some Dr Strange magic making it powered or something. Not sure who the bad guy is but have not read the comics on this if there are any either.

I wonder why nobody talks about the difference between citizen and denizen anymore. From Google: A citizen is a member of a state, usually by birth or naturalization, with legal rights and responsibilities within that state. A denizen, on the other hand, is someone who lives in or frequents...

How does the inside of a Bag of Holding (BoH) work in reference to placing something that can be spilled inside? Say someone wants to place a pot of stew or pail of paint or such that does not have a lid on it inside? Does the inside topple over and spill things out if the PC slings the bag...

Would this make the Battlemaster (BM) less cool if some of his powers were taken away or rather, made available to others? I know that my table has never taken BM, but only the Champion and maybe this would make them cooler to have more options.

Any plans of becoming a more normal game with them? I like the idea of introducing a NPC that can aid them. Since there was only 2 PCs, having someone that could go either way depending on the players is smart.

My table does not tend to get into details. We do not shy from it, but find it not needed that much.
