    Midnight the movie

I saw this at CONvergence 2006, last month at the Sheraton Bloomington hotel here in the Twin Cities. Besides myself and other locals, Ken Hite was there and saw it. (I also got a free copy of the 3.0 setting book as part of their promotional deal.) I'm sold, and I await the release of the film.

    Eric Noah's Info

For what it's worth, I still think that too few people in the business understand that they're trying to sell what are--in function and effect--capital goods with a lifespan of 25-50 years (on average) as if they were disposable consumer goods with a lifespan of (at most) a year or so...

Why DO Other Games Sell Less?

The default D&D gameplay paradigm is actually the one that the majority of gamers want, prefer, and desire above all others. This contributes significantly to the generation-long hegemony of D&D over all other games and game engines.

    Just break the @#$!& thing!

I wouldn't. By the RAW, the curse breaks with the weapon. Break the weapon, break the curse.

The party's cleric *won't* heal your character?!

Kicked to the curb in '74. Team first, team last, team always; what the group needs always trumps what the individual wants. Player skill matters. Coddle them and they'll never learn to play properly.

The party's cleric *won't* heal your character?!

Before all other concerns, your character must do his bloody job in the party. The cleric must heal, the fighter must hack in melee, the rogue must be stealthy on command, and the wizard/sorcerer must blast monsters to pieces. If your PC can't do his job, then he's worthless in actual play and...

PRCs that dont offer full spellcasting progression

I'd rather have another 9th level spell slot.

PRCs that dont offer full spellcasting progression

There is no PRC benefit that beats spell-casting progression. Far better to collapse the PRCs that have dead spell-casting levels down to the point where they become classes that offer full progression than to take them as-written.

[Hordes of the Abyss] Using, rather than changing

This "current powers" approach makes the Abyss seem like a professional wrestling federation, especially if the known demon princes rise and fall like championship belts changing hands between a handful of wrestlers.

Should WoTC Bring back Classic D&D?

It shouldn't be done because the retro/rules-lite crowd isn't nearly big enough for WotC to make a profit off of it, and because the split isn't as big as you think it is.

Do You Prefer 4 Or More Players (+ DM) When RPGing?

I prefer to cap at four when circumstances permit it.

When gender is unknown, always go with the masculine form by default.

    Anyone Remember...

I remember that time. I can have it again with the current edition, so the past remains with me in the present.

    How world and rules interact

    what races in your fantasy?

The default options for PCs are: Dwarves, Elves, Halflings and Men. Others I rotate into the mix if specific ideas require them to be available as PCs.

Do You Prefer to Play a Human PC When RPGing?

Because, for all intents and purposes, that is the case. D&D beats out all other TRPGs combined by an order of magnitude, in terms of player network size.

Do You Prefer to Play a Human PC When RPGing?

I play humans by default, and I refuse to play non-humans unless the circumstances require it.
