I'm still amazed how good a job with 5E WotC has done. After 4E crashed and burned, I didn't think they had it in them. But, wow. Very much looking forward to what they have planned for the 50th anniversary year in 2024.

Yeah, I'm still waiting on that.... I hate when someone starts a new kickstarter (or in this case, a new product line) when a previous kickstarter product they promised is several years late.

The question I have is will 5th edition end up being the longest active-supported edition in D&D history, or will WotC go for a new edition with the D&D 50th anniversary in 2024? (Or thereabouts.) With all of the concerns about legacy issues still present when 5th edition was released (but...

I loved running Feast of Goblyns and introducing my players to Ravenloft. My munchkin players didn't like Ravenloft so much. :LOL:

What's with all the (presumably) D&D 2E players??? That seems weird. (Especially since 1E isn't there.) (Unless they are all playing Planescape, which I would totally understand. :) )

Kudos to the D&D 5E team - what an amazing hit. PF2 seems to be struggling to convert over PF1E fans.

Same here. I absolutely loved Chronicles and Legends as a teenager (3+ decades ago). The novels after those weren't awful, but they did lack the "spark and energy" (as you say) for me as well. Maybe it was the character of Raistlin that was the best part of the original trilogies for me...

2+ years for 180 pages also seems a bit slow. (And, heck, if WotC does decide to do 6E for the 50th anniversary in 2024, we'd be approaching the time when interest in getting new 5E products may slow.)

I'm guessing this is why we sometimes see creatives leave one RFP company (with no hard feelings) and then resurface with a new RPG company a while later.

Yeah, I think this is a killer right now. Over-supply is huge. It's likely affecting all of the various markets for creative writing (RPGs, fiction, etc.).
