    SRD 3.5 Competition

Document Design For those layout folks out there... In this competition, you were given the RTF files by WotC and so it made since to go directly to a layout manager. How would you approach creating a document with layout from scratch? For example, you have written your basic outline of what...

    SRD 3.5 Competition

Keeping psionics out of it is fine. I think enough players _don't_ use the system to warrant keeping it out and shouldn't penalize anyone in the competition. On the other hand, going for completeness is a Good Thing (TM), especially if you hook someone with your design that uses psionics. :) /ds

    SRD 3.5 Competition

Please do not stray from the SRD (except for errata). Keep house rules and/or opinions out of the document. Otherwise, it is less useful for us less "document" talented. :) Thanks for having the competition! I look forward to seeing ya'lls work. Cheers, /ds

    D&D 3.x 3.5 SRD is up

Is anyone going to take the entire thing, pretiffy it, and stick it in a PDF file? (I don't know if a community member did this for 3.0 or not.) /ds

Things that stop invisibility..yes or no?

I doubt it. They probably have a mixutre of new 3.5e wording and old, overlooked wording from 3.0e to add to the confusion. *smirk* /ds

    Party Size and Encounter Balance

Wow. Did you find that the characters were behind in magic items, money, skill and/or spell levels expected by the module? I can only assume that since the XP rate was slower per character, your party was "behind" in these things. Cheers, /ds

    Party Size and Encounter Balance

Howdy. I'm thinking about picking up one of these mega-adventure/mini-campaigns and running it. I understand most are balanced for the iconic party--Fighter, Cleric, Rogue, Wizard. For those that have ran or played these adventures, how well to do they work (with preferrably no modification)...

Things that stop invisibility..yes or no?

I disagree that controlling a flaming sphere or spiritual weapon makes you visible. It is no different than you controlling the knife that cuts the rope bridge that makes your enemies plunge to their deaths. /ds

Reverse Gravity: I don't understand it

Keep in mind that since gravity is reversed for them, they edge of reverse gravity or the ceiling (if indoors) is the floor to them. They can fight just as well as your party can from the "ground". A DM might give them a slight penalty to skills (-2) for having the landscape turned awry. My...

    Disease and Poison Attacks

Howdy. When a creature has disease or poison as an effect of their attack, does each hit cause more "damage"? With poison, I can see it being a cumulative effect. The more spider venom, the more fortitude saves and potential damage you are going to take. Diseases, on the other hand, might...

    Catching Falling Objects

How do you handle catching falling objects? In particular, an object takes 1d6 damage per 10 ft. of falling distance. If you are under it, you take some damage, too. (I forget how much.) How would a character attempt to catch the object, and how much damage would he take (if any)? Thanks. /ds

    D&D 3.x [3.5] Monk Magic Hands

Reading the scans for the new monk I notice that her Ki Strike is different: 4th Ki strike (magic) 10th Ki strike (lawful) 16th Ki strike (adamantine) Each of the above entries also says "for the purpose of overcoming DR and doing damage". I don't know how that translates into a +X...

    Movement (Double Move)

From various modules or DM contrived situations. The two most often contended are the "you can only move your speed" and "you can only walk". The PHB describes the double move as a "hustle" (or jog). /ds

    Movement (Double Move)

Howdy. What do the following situations mean for a character that has a move of 30 ft.? In which situations can the character take a double move and how far can he go? You can only move your speed. You can only move half your movement. You can only move half your speed. You can only walk. You...

    Errata 3.5e (and Second Printing)

Howdy. Fortunately I was "out-of-touch" with DND when the 3e books first came out. It turns out that the books (particularly the PHB) was full of mistakes. The errata list was huge and they eventually (3 mos. later?) published the second printing of the PHB with most of the problems fixed...
