Do you modify/write-in your game books?

I haven’t in some time but.... I do recall doing so in a few earlier adventures and it made running the game much smoother. All my notes and revisions were RIGHT THERE!

    D&D 5E (2014) Using COMMAND to break a caster's concentration?

I’d probably allow it depending on the situation and the command.

A supposedly great thing that I'll never watch again- Great media that left you cold

Re: Sinclair. The actor had psychotic break in S1 and JMS made sure to get him help AND keep it secret. Ultimately it wasn’t enough and the retiree and passed away years later. Apparently JMS swore to the guy that he would never tell anyone but the actor told him to reveal the story after he...

A supposedly great thing that I'll never watch again- Great media that left you cold

B5 was a thing that was great and ground-breaking in terms of storytelling..... When it was made. Jeez.... I can’t imagine how bad it is now.

What is the point of GM's notes?

Mostly the point of my notes is to remind me of the “images or moments of consequence”. I like to have descriptions of things in the world around the PCs that shows their effect on the world. Saved the orphanage a couple sessions ago? Happy kids on the streets. Rescue the triefling girl and...

    D&D Movie/TV Update on D&D TV Show -- Underdark, Small, 6-10 Episodes

Aside from Dragonlance being... not very good anyways... there are a number of issues with the base work to overcome in production.

D&D 5E (2014) Dealing with optimizers at the table

Imagine if you were to join a table... and they didn’t give you any guidance to achieve your character concept. And the other players were ducks who didn’t give you a chance to shine. And a DM who was oblivious to the table dynamic. All the problems in the OP are personal and not mechanical.

D&D 5E (2014) Dealing with optimizers at the table

That’s an amazing imaginary scenario. I’m a team guy i guess and always find a way to “carry my weight”.

D&D 5E (2014) Dealing with optimizers at the table

Yeah... the concept of being “outshone” is really weird to me. It’s very.... computer game.

D&D 5E (2014) Dealing with optimizers at the table

They seem like the type of people I wouldn’t play with. Start a new table without them.

D&D 5E (2014) Advice on balancing a homebrew channel divinity

I would probably be fine with that honestly. What you get is solid. Doesn’t stack. If you want to nerf it further you could restrict it to either attacks or saves. It’s something I’d let you roll with and then we’d revisit it in a few sessions.

D&D General Best D&D Haunted House Adventure?

I really enjoyed the Death House from CoS. Could very easily cut it out and use it anywhere. Creepy ghost kids with a horrifying story....

Justice League: So, who's seen the Snyder Cut?

Um.... this doesn’t at all prove that people will go to a theatre to watch a 4 hour movie. A lot of folks in this thread are watching this film in pieces or “in the background”. Then there’s the theatre financials which will prevent a 4 hour movie being shown. Can’t get enough butts in seats...

Justice League: So, who's seen the Snyder Cut?

I’ve watched around half. Don’t remember enough of the Whedon version to really compare the two but my feels are.... 1)Snyder was given a lot of leeway to be self indulgent in his directing because this cut wouldn’t be a theatrical release. At four hours... and being only 2 in, already I can...

    D&D 5E (2014) A different take on Alignment

Now we’re making up “Non creative people” to defend for some reason. I mean... the lengths we go through to defend nostalgia are.... something else.
