D&D Beyond Twitter Account says OGL will be addressed soon

Youtube probably realised they shouldn't have let Zola write algorithms for them. We know he loves to write them, but like, come on. They're all in COBOL for naughty word's sake.

D&D Beyond Twitter Account says OGL will be addressed soon

If this is somehow not real, that would require: a) a ton of third parties to either decide to lie together, or be duped by oen very well done leak b) for Kickstarter to change terms of D&D kickstarters for no apparent reasons c) for WoTC to decide to wait a week to say "this is entirely fake"...

WotC Ex D&D Beyond Staffers Criticize Relationship With WotC

I hope Andrew is okay. It sounds like it was a tough working environment, and it's clear there is a disconnect between WoTC staff and management - which always seems invetiable in any non-union, non-worker inspired or operated company.

WotC Ex D&D Beyond Staffers Criticize Relationship With WotC

No, you are right, it's highly likely they didn't. But around December does seem to be the point that WoTC started to make moves internally re: OGL 1.1. They also seem to have had a number of staff, some high up, around this time. So, it is possible this change could have been a factor in some...

Paizo How will OGL 1.1 affect Pazio, PF1 and P2?

That's an interesting question to raise. Surely they cannot be affected, right? Because that could bring the wider game industry into the mix. Which could affect WoTC's own licensed titles?

WotC Ex D&D Beyond Staffers Criticize Relationship With WotC

Weren't there other WoTC associated staff that left around that time? It seems like WoTC has lost a number of their own - some fairly high up - over this change.

Paizo How will OGL 1.1 affect Pazio, PF1 and P2?

Considering that WoTC is doing this in the first place when everyone else understood the revocation to be impossible and lawyers (who, to be fair, haven't seen the documents) are disagreeing on all sides - and there have been clear cases in the past where corporate lawyers have done what they...

Paizo How will OGL 1.1 affect Pazio, PF1 and P2?

I don't see Paizo doing that. Like. At all. That puts a set shelf life on their products - especially online. They still sell (I assume) the vast majority of their books for Pathfinder 1e online. They probably still get some sales, which they don't depend on - but I imagine it helps, AND it...

OGL 1.1 live chat with a lawyer at Roll for Crit.

It's not really a possibility considering third parties are already against it and nobody are enthusiastic about something that, at the very least, is confirmed to affect royalties in a manner that is wholely negative to third parties and gives them zero value comapred to previous agreements.

WotC WotC's Chris Perkins On D&D's Inclusivity Processes Going Forward

Not the one asked, but I would say the most common scenarios would be: a) when an honest attempt at negotiations have failed b) when a violent and awful act is being committed right in front of you c) when dishonesty is involved and a deal is reneged that could lead to awful things happening d)...

D&D General Why Editions Don't Matter

You also have to be able to suss out when advice is applicable, useful and is the solution to your problem. While I haven't ran into this while attempting to learn how to GM, I have certainly run into issues with questionable or poor advice in programming. Sometimes a source has both good...

D&D General Why Editions Don't Matter

pemerton's point was that the rules in 5e, at-least in the Basic PDF, are vague. You either intuitively or have to be told by those who played before that it is the DM that decides combat has started. Unless anything has been cut from the quote, I also think it's not clear from the text who...

Pathfinder 2E How is Pathfinder doing?

That is also a valid point. I just wanted to present some extra thoughts.

Pathfinder 2E How is Pathfinder doing?

Theoretically, the reason the Beginner Box and Abomination Vaults were as great as they were was because of the feedback and criticism directed at those early Adventure Paths; for the Beginner Box especially, it may have been a blessing to have had those early rough patches to allow them to know...

Dear crowdfunding publishers: Chill out with the content stretch goals

Pre-order is probably the wrong word choice for Kickstarter, but I suspect some people use it as a pre-order system so the following still has merit. I don't suspect we will agree on this one (for very good reasons) but: They're not harmful when we talk about physical or limited edition goods...

Dear crowdfunding publishers: Chill out with the content stretch goals

I am fairly risk adverse and I don't like the possibility creators and customers using Kickstarter getting harmed, even as a result of their own decisions, because they might be unaware of the full consequences of their actions? Fear was a word used more so for a turn of phrase more than anything.

Dear crowdfunding publishers: Chill out with the content stretch goals

It's not nice to see father and daddy fighting like this. To be on point, I fear at this stage in so many ways Kickstarter is treated by customers as an advanced access / early access / pre-order system. I have been guilty of that myself. So with that in mind, why wouldn't crowdfunding...

    Blog (A5E) Dungeon Delver’s Guide: It’s a Trap!

    Blog (A5E) Dungeon Delver’s Guide: It’s a Trap!

I hope this is not too off-topic, but I'm interested to know how system agnostic the book can be. I know the focus is on 5e and Level Up 5e, but from reading the description, the dungeon generators and guidelines sound like they could apply to any system. Am I correct in that assessment? A book...

    NuTSR Financial Data Breach

Couldn't have happened to a nicer company, and a nicer set of customers (minus the people who stuck their hands into the filth to expose the awfulness of their products).
