Just don't have minions arrive on the scene in convenient fireball-sized packages. :)

    HELP! Avenger issue

In the real world, yes. D&D is not trying to simulate the real world, so none of this applies. If you're looking for accurate representations of medieval warfare, D&D 4E is not remotely the game for you, even before you add in the wizards and dragons and such. What about a guy in light/no...

    Rain of Steel: Modifiers?

It can be a nice power to drop in limited circumstances, but as a fighter I take a long, hard look at anything that makes enemies even more inclined to not engage me at melee range. Since it isn't an attack roll, it also doesn't mark, which is rather less useful. It's a good minion-clearing...

    HELP! Avenger issue

Luckily, 4E abstracts those distinctions out sufficiently that, from a mechanical standpoint, they're largely irrelevant. Missed attacks due to high AC from heavy armor can be described as bouncing off the armor with little or no effect, while missed attacks due to crazy-Dex-monkey light armor...

    Multiclassing for at-wills

The issue isn't that it's too powerful, IMO. It's that it only benefits a tiny handful of multiclass feats and leaves all those who grant limited class feature access out in the cold. If you're trying to design a feat to boost multiclassing effectiveness, you should try to come up with something...

    Combat Challenge and Oppurtunity Attacks

Alternately, the monster can now charge the warlord. Or he could have moved rather than shifted and thus only triggered one OA from the fighter. Or it can turn around and wallop the fighter, which is the whole point of what the game design is trying to accomplish. :) Monsters have plenty of...

    RAW interpretation on save

The fact that the save also ends a slow effect doesn't change the fact that it's also a save against ongoing damage. The bonus applies to the whole save, you don't resolve it on a per-effect basis.

    Combat Challenge and Oppurtunity Attacks

Correct, he gets both. Resolve them in whatever order you see fit, but it doesn't matter too much--they're effectively simultaneous. Note however that combat challenge attacks do not stop movement. Only opportunity attacks do that. Regardless, both attacks would go off; you don't cancel an...

    Combat Challenge and Oppurtunity Attacks

Combat Superiority's +Wis to OAs applies to all OAs, not just those provoked by moving.

10 Questions for the Quarterstaff Implement contreversy

Because to do so is to deny an entire category of implement to every single Small character capable of using staffs?

    OMG Dragonmark feats!

Personally, I'm a little disappointed that the Mark of Storm has no love for the Lyrandar rogue (at least until he can pick up a lightning weapon or something that lets him fly), but other than that I dig the hell out of them.

D&D 4E Top 5 Encounter Powers That Need Fixing in 4e

UT isn't the thing you take issue with, it's surgeless healing. UT is just the most obvious example because it's an encounter power. Mass cure light wounds is a cleric utility 10 that heals your healing surge value at no cost to you. Even a 30th-level wizard with an average Con will heal more...

How do you handle Magic Circle in your game?

It says it lasts until the circle is broken, then goes on to say that affected creatures cannot break the circle. It says nothing about the circle being immune to any other sort of disruption, so logically it isn't. Also, you're overlooking the fact that the Tarrasque sleeps in the world's...

D&D 4E Top 5 Encounter Powers That Need Fixing in 4e

Given that the starvation rules as presented already allow a first-level character to survive without any food at all for nearly two months (and that's assuming he fails every single save), I'm not really sure Unicorn's Touch is that wonky. The easy fix is to alter the deprivation rules to say...

    Can Paladin mark multiple opponents?

Actually, there are some paladin attack powers that also mark the target, including some (e.g. arcing smite) that can mark multiple opponents. These are specific powers, though; paladins do not get the fighter's "mark everything you attack" ability. However, since these marks are not created...

    Trouble running encounter in H2

Yes. Rampage causes the warder to move, not shift. Moving provokes OAs. Yes, it stops the rampage cold, because the warder can no longer move without expending an action. Yes, the warder can do this--it's no different than shifting and then moving to withdraw from an enemy. Bear in mind...

    Warforged death save bonus

Not quite. Healing automatically starts at 0 hp if you're in the negatives, rolling a 20 on your death save has nothing to do with it. You'd start at 0 hp if the cleric cast cure light wounds on you, or the paladin used lay on hands to revive you. Rolling the 20 allows you to heal, that's it...

    Two Movement Questions...

Not necessarily, it just has to take a moment to right itself/clear its head/re-establish the focus of will required to fly/whatever other bit of flavorful description the DM feels best fits the creature's nature and the penalties associated with the condition labeled "prone."
