Was Santa Claus the reason you started playing D&D?

I played for the first time in 82' when I was 11 in the church basement with some older kids. My neighbor was with me so he got his mom to buy him the red basic boxed set. I asked for it for Christmas so Santa got me the blue expert set and the advanced monster manual. So not the best pairing of...

    My Gripe with D&D Experience

Thanks. Just don't let my wife hear you say that or she'll have to beat me back down to keep me in place. Your enjoyment of the show is kinda our gig. I would exchange them at the show or sell them at the show. We can return them now but there is a 10% charge (as I do not get returned some of...

    My Gripe with D&D Experience

Well at least you recognize it's a petty gripe ;) It was in Fort Wayne for years before it moved (first two New Jersey, then a different hotel in DC, then the location from last year for the past three years). So people grumped by the bucket load when it moved from the midwest. People grump...

    My Gripe with D&D Experience

Not sure what you've imagined but the show has hit 1,000+ players on several occassions (but not since it started moving around in 2003). It is a RPGA D&D only show so those numbers with that subset of players I think is pretty large. With the stuff we run and previews that nobody else has I...

    My Gripe with D&D Experience

There are answers over on your post in the DDXP Wotc forums as well but I like to be everywhere. The two slots of 4-7 adventures that were sold out have been expanded and tickets made available. Tickets are a flexible thing as you can try to predict what people are going to want and when but...

OK GenCOn ENWorlders, document your experiences here...

they were not limited to 20-30 a day. That Sunday I was bringing down every extra FRCS I could find that I had not handed out to my judges (which I handed out over 200 of them to my workers Saturday night). I told them I could probably scrape up 20-30 extra ones which would not last very long...

Anyone else excited for Dungeon Delve?

I guess you'll probably be disappointed then. That happens when you use faulty information to base an opinion on. The D&D Delve is neither a last person standing or most kills event with a winner. It's a team based event where you have a certain period of time to complete the section you are...

So, who's looking forward to 4E Forgotten Realms?

FR is doing just fine and I highly doubt Wotc is dumb enough to just let it revert back to Ed. They've invested way to much in it. In fact the next huge OP campaign for the RPGA is based in the Realms. We had our largest offering for a campaign kickoff (or Gencon schedule really). A total of...

    D&D 4E 4e Playtesters revealed!

and that's what sucks about being a playtester. I know the answer. Most probably know I know the answer but I cannot answer it. Mike can. He's probably laughing that evil laugh of his while adjusting that Mariners baseball cap (that hides his horns). If it makes you feel better though I have...

    D&D 4E 4e Playtesters revealed!

Man some of you guys can turn anything into a negative. A> none of you know when outside playtesting actually started B> none of you know exactly who tested what parts C> none of you know how many tested those parts compared to other parts D> no I'm not going to tell you So relax. If you want...

price of H1 Keep on the Shadowfell

I also believe that unless something changed the book is in full color front to back (which I find nice and does add some cost). So that is another thing that seperates in from the Sunless Citadel line that started out 3.0 (and the maps are nice). Dave

Why are they waiting til June?

I know at least a dozen people if not more involved in the RPGA in the Cincy area as well as a convention that's ran at least 3-4 years now every fall (though with LG winding down not sure if it will continue). There is a lot of stuff going on in Ohio and SW Ohio. You just have to look a little...

Why are they waiting til June?

When they released magic in the olden days they were also a company of a handful of people, with personal money pooled to print it, in a corner booth at Gencon where almost nobody knew who they were. Things have changed a little since then.

Are you going to buy an EXTRA copy of the PHB?

What if you already have more then one copy? I'll probably end up with 4-5 of them plus a couple of the limited ones by the time it's all said and done.

    Beholder in Seattle

I have some nice pictures of it, the troll, and the life-size dungeon tiles at home if nobody else tosses them up I will tonight when I get the kids to bed.

    WotC announces D&D 4.5!

I already announced 5th edition at the judge metting (before R&D) at DDXP last month. They have already been putting 5th edition rules into the 4th edition preview materials so you've already been testing it and it will come out next year.

D&D 4E Chris Tulach, of WotC, Talks 4E at ConnCon

Origins is June 26-29 (some games run on Wednesday but none of the ones you said cool on). Moathouse indeed will be very cool

The correct quote is 'more then a dozen' and not several dozen. Big difference there.

D&D 4E Wizards to run 4e Demos before June

As Scott said the demo's are run by the volunteers in their Delegate program (which I was in once on the ground floor but time restraints took me in another direction obviously). So each Delegate is the one making a choice of when they want to run and where or if they even can. There may be a...
