    D&D 5E (2014) short Underdark delve/treks/scenarios for levels 11+ ?

I guess the best bet are past Dragon/Dungeon issues. Finding FR adventures is quite hard because to recently it was the realm (pun intended) of WotC authors only. What you're looking for is quite specific - it might be best just to write your own.

Brainstorming for tomorrow's Star Wars session

From experience things rarely if ever go as planned once the players are let loose. One thing I try to do is create a bunch of events or scenes, which occur or can be triggered in generally any order or not at all. The characters can go to these places, or do things, and I find it makes prep a...

House rule for minimum skill checks in 5e

This feels like trying to fix something that isn't broken. If an example PC has Dex 15, that means they are moderately above average in agility. If they have a skill in Acrobatics of, say, +5, that means they are pretty good in that skill, with a total modifier of +7 An easy DC is 5. This...

Brainstorming for tomorrow's Star Wars session

From experience, players don't mind a little railroading every now and then. I wouldn't worry about it too much. You may be over-thinking it?

    Shadow on the Moonsea

3 out of 5 rating for Shadow on the Moonsea Ran for a group of friends from work, it was reasonable for a small, cheap adventure. Very basic production but the notes were quite adequate. Pretty much the same for the AL modules.

Viewing "my reviews" broken on anything apart from 1st page

If you click on "My reviews" and then at the bottom of the page, click '2' or "last", the earlier reviews don't get shown. It can be worked around by tinkering with the URL to add "&userid=XXXXX" to the address.

Review averages - could be improved?

Indeed - I was kind of getting at this. I don't think it's feasible to allow/disallow reviews, because it's almost impossible to draw a line between a proper review and a troll. However, using a better average system than a simple mean would at least partially rectify the problem.

    Rivendell

4 out of 5 rating for Rivendell I think this book is worth it just for reading about the setting. It's very inspirational. The artwork is nice but I think it could be slightly better - it may be the art style it's hard to say. Also I'm not sure that every room in Rivendell needs detailing...

    Pathfinder RPG Core Rulebook

3 out of 5 rating for Pathfinder RPG Core Rulebook Having been introduced to Pathfinder within the last year, I can't help but compare it to some other recent tabletop RP games that offer a similar experience but feel more streamlined and less bogged down in little details. Combats can take...

    Dungeon World

3 out of 5 rating for Dungeon World I quite like the idea of a very rules light, narrative driven game like this, but it didn't seem to have enough by itself to excite me. The presentation of the book is a bit weak - when I open the pages of a RPG product I like to see engaging text and and...

    13th Age Core Book

4 out of 5 rating for 13th Age Core Book My first impression of the game is that it blends in the usual D&D/d20 system with the character creation and traits of a narrative based system such as Dungeon World. It feels very well presented and I like the concept of Icons. The ruleset seems quite...

    Keltia

3 out of 5 rating for Keltia I found that although this game has a fascinating historical aspect, it seems to focus very much on the politics and religious change in the setting. I didn't find it very engaging. The dice system also didn't really click with me. It's attention to detail is very...

Star Wars: Force and Destiny - Nexus of Power

5 out of 5 rating for Star Wars: Force and Destiny - Nexus of Power This is mostly a "gazetteer" of worlds and locations that have a connection to the force. It is packed full of ideas and inspiration for a GM. I like the attention to background detail. There are a few character options as...

    Lords of Waterdeep

5 out of 5 rating for Lords of Waterdeep I have a lot of board games and this one is one of the most played. It's very appealing to casual players and seems to have the right balance of depth and simplicity. It's also lovely to look at and very well presented.

    Droid characters starting XP/Stats

Droids get more points in skills to start off with compared to other species, and also get more career skills, so ranking up skills over time is easier and cheaper for them. So it kind of averages out. In addition, another benefit of a droid is that they are hugely customisable at the outset...

    The One Ring Roleplaying Game

3 out of 5 rating for The One Ring Roleplaying Game I've wanted to try this game for quite a while, and after having done so, I have mixed feelings about it. On a positive side, the books are presented really well and very much portray the feeling of Lord of the Rings. The gameplay feels gritty...

    Star Wars Edge of Empire

Yes I would advise the starter set, as it guides you through the system and how to play and GM a role playing game. It can be a bit patronising but it's probably best to start basic. A few general tips: Never tell the players what their character is doing or going to do (at least, without...
