I was tempted by this, but $30 feels a lot for the complete thing in PDF.

As mentioned, the character options, ships, enemies and the background material are different. The rules & equipment sections are the same.

I think the thing that makes titles "heavy-weight" is all the character options, fluff and setting material. Most RPG systems can be collapsed into a couple of dozen or so pages if stripped to the essentials.

For anyone that likes story-telling, narrative play, improvisation and very flexible character development, I recommend the FFG star wars systems. The system is quite heavy-weight but I think it's very rewarding if the group of players can all get into it.

Based on the content I've seen and comments from other users, I don't have any interest in this.

If there are ideas and details for what are in the rooms/areas, then I don't think a precise map is necessary. Ideas are harder to think of than dungeon layouts.

I think idea is to provide inspiration rather than precise scenarios.

I think it could work without adjustment any point from Order 66 up to RotJ.

I really enjoy the Fantasy Flight series. I think the system can be a bit of a shock for people coming from more tactical games or d20 systems, but I think the FFG system leans much more towards story telling and character development. If one is in the right mindset, it's really rewarding. Plus...

Sounds like some improvements. I thought the game was okay, but could have been better. It isn't one I really want to keep coming back to, not currently anyway.

Does Fantasy Grounds support the Edge of the Empire dice?

This map looks amazing. I'll definitely pop over and buy it when I get a chance. I don't mind paying the artist a small amount for it at all. It helps the industry.

As previous posters have mentioned, the players need to get away from the d20 mindset and switch into more of a collaborative story-telling mode. When I first played EotE I quite liked it, but it got put on a shelf after a few sessions because the players were looking for a more tactical game...
