D&D 4E Equivalence of 4E Points of Light and Forgotten Realms gods

The main issue is that FR have nearly 1 god per porfolio , whereas the core gods have multiple portfolios that overlap. The important thing is to identify the main 'aspect' so while Shar has darkness (a main identifier) she also has knowlege/secrets and undeath to an extent, so she'd be a good...

Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition withdrawn from sale over “contractual issues”

Just get the GOG bundle and use TuTu - it's basically the same minus some semi-decent NPCs

    looking for a sharpness scale

It's mostly based on hardness (mohs scale 0=talc 10=diamond) and then the 'angle' of the blade so how it can apply the pressure (force / area) so if you imagine that the below 'diagrams' are the edges of blades the 2 is wider than the 1 and not as angled. Assuming they are of sufficient hardness...

My wife posted a picture of it on her blog, its new so not organised yet. It's custom as we've moved in 2 months (almost 3 now) ago.

    Describe your non-RPG book collection

I've culled since I don't read as much now- I really have lots of Jeffrey Deaver and Lee Child books. all the Artemis Fowl and my Wife's harry potter books. The odd book on painting, poetry and words (dictionary of prose an phrase) and reference books on guns and swords. Oh an a lot of science...

Elven metabolism, tall dwarves, pretty trolls.

3rd E D&D had the BOVD which had the 'vile feat' of obese = +1 con, -1 dex and bonus to intimidate I think. There was also a 'gaunt' feat which was pretty much the opposite = +1 dec -1con and bonus to stealth (possibly?)

    'Standard' House Rules?

The buffing of iterative attacks makes a lot of sense - as mentioned by teh time you need a +16 you're +6/+1 are useless most of the time!! Thanks, this has give me some ideas for if I return to 3.5

    'Standard' House Rules?

Hmm that makes sense alright. Also I've played a lot of Baldurs gate 2 - what are the books with the kit descriptions in them?

    'Standard' House Rules?

What does that mean? Victory points/Willpower?? Can you elaborate on that please. Thanks, this is the sort of info I'm looking for :D

    'Standard' House Rules?

FAO Mods, I'm posting a sister thread in AD&D2E forum. Basically my parents visited and brought my old RPG books with them -including my heavily battered AD&D PHB and DMG (Didn't have monster manuals back in Ireland when I was a kid ;)), my 3.X collection (FRCG, OA, BOVD) & V:tM. I've played a...

Wrath of Ashardalon 'Campaign' - Odd issues

I guess... at then you don't actually need to do the 'slay ashardalon' mission at the end? Just a quirky bug!

Wrath of Ashardalon 'Campaign' - Odd issues

So I'm trying to solo through WoA with a Paladin, I found an interesting problem: what happens if you kill ashardalon while raiding his 'treasure horde' ? Treasure horde was the 2nd chamber/dungeon and Ashardalon turned up almost straight away, I did knock him down to 6HP before tactically...

D&D 5E (2014) Exclusive D&D Next Campaign available at Gen Con Only

Hate to sound like an internet hater but we have no clue what iteration of the rules they'll have (and I personally don't like any of the rules aside from some ideas that I need to modify and steal - namely 'advantage/disadvantage' for **SOME** things) I don't like the idea of exclusivity -...

How to make D&D more political?

All this info has been really helpful. I've been thinking and I guess part of the motivation for asking the question is that as the PCs approach paragon, they have more influence and allies (including a young adamantine dragon, a retired paladin and a young wizard that they spared) which will...

How to make D&D more political?

That's really helpful - I think I need to do a 'meta analysis' of the factions involved and take a step back to look at it from another perspective.

How to make D&D more political?

I've been playing a fair amount of Rogue Trader (fantasy flight) and Lords of Waterdeep. I'm trying to figure out (for paragon) how to get the feel of political manoeuvring and influence over land while keeping away from 'money & management' type game. Rogue trader allows for crazy elements of...

Struggling with Swordmage //Questions about monster

I've tried to find these erratas but have struggled. I'm using madness at gardmore abbey don't know if it's modified. What I do know is that the gargoyles (lvl 9 lurkers) are broken - they can go into stone form, gain resist all 25, regen 5 temp hp a turn and then ***+20*** to their next damage...
