TSR Example from the worst TSR adventure module(s) ever published

See, now I need to pick up a copy of Patriots. Another sale, Anthony! Where should I send the royalties? Besides, in all seriousness: you wrote for Greyhawk in the TSR years. That is awesome +5. Who cares what anyone else says.

    Iuz Imprisonment

Thank you! A lead. I wonder if there are parallels between his imprisonment beneath Greyhawk and Zuggtomy's imprisonment in Temple of Elemental Evil, given Gygax wrote both scenes.

    Excellent point on WotC mishandling

Sophistry! And yes, I still can't hand out XP. I need to make an alt or something.

    Iuz Imprisonment

I might as well just addressed this to Grodog, but there might be some other Greyhawk grognards in the Enworld sphere. Does anyone know any of the specifics of how Iuz was imprisoned beneath Castle Greyhawk, how he was kept there, and how he was freed?

    Excellent point on WotC mishandling

You must spread some Experience Points around before giving it to Vyvyan Basterd again. But for the record, 4e killed my goldfish and spat on my mom.

    Jar of Doom!

No, i think the JoD is real, not in-game. More along the lines of: "I need +3 to hit that ogre!" "Try the JoD, dude!" "Okay!" Pulls slip from jar. Reads. "What?! I hit, doing double damage but my weapon breaks off in the target?! Noooo!" "Dude, they don't call it the Jar of Doom for...

    Revenue alternatives to new editions

In another thread that shall not be named, it has been posited that releasing editions that differ substantially from the source edition run the risk of fracturing the player base. However, it could also be argued that this change is "value." I haven't bought Call of Cthulhu editions 4.1.1...

    Excellent point on WotC mishandling

I still disagree with this argument. I think you are mistaking the medium for the message, but this is only my opinion. I do, however, agree with many of your conclusions. I'm still interested in seeing a discussion on RPG revenue streams that are alternatives to releasing new editions.

    Excellent point on WotC mishandling

Just so we're clear: I completely agree that WotC regularly screws up. But while I agree with the conclusion, I disagree with your argument. If I am understanding you, it seems to boil down to: D&D is a book Revising books is bad therefore Revising D&D is bad I might be wrong, but I'd say...

    Excellent point on WotC mishandling

Not to refute your point, but when publishers reissue a book, with a new cover, annotated bits and what not, this is exactly what they are doing. Call it a revision or not, but this is how they "perk up" sales.

The "Old School Revival" - The Light Bulb Goes On

It doesn't make one system better than another, but I was poor GM in 3.5, and I now do a pretty bang up job in B/X (I don't really get into the C, M or I). However my dice roll, below, indicates that I failed my diplomacy check.

How many miles can one travel in a day?

Sure. I've done 24 miles in a day, in the Rockies, with a full backpack. But if I was carrying armor, weapons, and camping supplies that weren't made out of ultra light materials? No way. Let alone healing up from that arrow the orc put in me last week.

    Gaming, Adults, and Growing Up

Slightly off topic, but it begs the question: Why shouldn't adults play games? Recall the parlor games the adults play in Christmas Carol? Once upon a time it was socially acceptable for adults to play games in the company of other adults. Now it is more acceptable to sit passively and watch...

    The Mystery of The katana

Awesome. Thank you. And yeah, I'm just looking for some light entertainment with fun action. Ala: YouTube - Sucker Punch - Official HD Trailer by Zack Snyder Respecting the OP, I'd offer the tongue-in-cheek possibility that RPG weapons are like RPG deities. The more that worship them, the...
