    Something I've noticed about Druid.

Wooden weapons tend to synergise better with some of the druid self-buff spells, but there's no intrinsic requirement for them to use wooden weapons. Every game version I recall has a prohibition against them using metal armour though.

You are correct. The only thing stopping them is the -4 non-proficiency penalty.

D&D 3.x 3.5 Reflex Saves and Conditions Question

Yes. Consider that unattended magic items do still get Reflex saves.

    Dungeons and Dragons and Data...

That said, if you're willing to go for the feel rather than the literal translation, a warforged factotum might work better, and would certainly be more playable.

Spiked Chain - AKA "The Cheese Whip"

So the best solution to the exotic weapon problem is to ban the only exotic weapon that anyone would ever seriously consider spending a feat on. Interesting.

Spiked Chain - AKA "The Cheese Whip"

My problem with spiked chain isn't so much with that weapon as with exotic weapons in general. If a player is going to take an exotic weapon at all, spiked chain is the single obvious choice if he cares about optimisation at all; the sole exception is dwarven war axes when used by dwarves, but...

Prone and two handed weapons question

I stand corrected. 439.87m it is for a longbow. I guess there must be something about the way a longbow works that causes unusually high amounts of drag, since it isn't performing anything like as well as it's launch velocity should indicate.

Prone and two handed weapons question

The source I cited notes that Don Brown's record is with a conventional bow, contrasted with compound.

Prone and two handed weapons question

These numbers seem suspect to me. I can certainly believe that 350m is about the limit of the useful range of a longbow when it's considered as one man aiming at a single standard target. However, I have some difficulty believing that someone lying down on the ground to use a footbow would be...

Prone and two handed weapons question

Umm, movies, even ones set in historical periods, aren't exactly made with any particular interest in accuracy. That film especially, deals with the idea of different people recalling the same event in different ways (if you take the various potted summaries as honest descriptions of the film) —...

Prone and two handed weapons question

The two historical leaders you mention were both Europe-based, very far indeed from China. Either that, or wikipedia is wrong.

    D&D 3.x How do I qualify a Warlock for spellcasting PRCs? (3.5)

If you're willing to put two levels into it, bard has a nice array of extra abilities. Failing that, archivist gives Scribe Scroll and dark knowledge. Given the archivist mechanic, Scribe Scroll can potentially be really useful for a dipping warlock. Edit: archivist casts as a divine class. But...

    Irregular Transportation Modes

I'd make the skill requirement no higher than 4 ranks - otherwise the average modern teenager couldn't ride a bicycle. The general rule would be that the 'vehicle' would be governed by the Balance skill.

    D&D 3.x The effects of sleep 3.5ed

By strict RAW, sleeping characters do normally get all saves they might otherwise be entitled to. Yes, it does seem odd that sleeping PCs get Reflex saves; however, unattended magical items do to. Note that while asleep, they have an effective Dexterity of 0 (-5 on Reflex saves). RAW, sleeping...

D&D 3.x Wizard limitations in 3e? Read first post before answering please.

I am familiar with those rules. First, the gold costs are really trivial once past 3rd level. The Spellcraft check is possibly a roadblock, but consider two points: * For any given spell, there is almost certainly another spell of the same level that approximates the same effects. You want an...

    Feats That Shouldn’t Be Feats

Track - I need to spend a feat so that the GM can keep the plot on course? Many of these probably should be left in as feats, but with a clause that essentially says that those classes whose archetypes need them will get them for free. If you are playing another class and want to go against...
