D&D 5E (2014) What are/will be the main beefs of D&D Next relative to other editions?

You're right - there were huge complaints when 3e first came out - including that it was too video-gamey, that it was dramatically dumbed down from the previous editions and that it forced you to use miniatures.

Finally starting the last 3 books of The Wheel of Time

OK, I'm about 80% of the way through A Memory of Light. Wow, this book is really moving at a breakneck pace - probably more action in this one book than books 7-11 combined. Somebody above hit it on the head, though. I don't think they'll be able to wrap everything up by the end of the book...

The Walking Dead 4.1 "30 Days Without an Accident" (spoiler alert)

A lot of fans would be upset if Daryl died and turned. So far, they've killed main characters, but most of them (Lori, Shane, Andrea, Dale, Merle) were irritating to some degree and/or had major flaws, so fans didn't love the characters. Yes, Sophia was not irritating, but she was kind of a...

    Walking Dead -- Zombie "Rules"

agreed - smarter zombies would be a huge mistake, IMHO. I think people on the show might think they're getting smarter, but they'll later find out the zombies were being led to do things by the Governor and/or his minions.

    Walking Dead -- Zombie "Rules"

They only showed the doorknob moving on the inside of the house. While the implication was the zombie was turning the doorknob, did they actually show the lock on the front door? It could have been a latch or lever that the zombie was brushing or pushing against, causing the knob inside to jiggle.

    Best streaming movie/TV shows service

From what I've seen, the streaming services don't offer newer movies on them. So, if I could order the physical copy of something just out on DVD ("This is the End" was out a week or two ago), I could do that from Netflix. But, I couldn't stream them from any service that I know of at this...

George R.R. Martin teases purple wedding for season 4

I've read A Song of Ice & Fire and enjoy the TV show and seeing some of the big events play out as part of the show and how the showrunners have generally followed Martin's overall plot (Ned/Drogo dying, dragons being born, Blackwater, Red Wedding, etc) . I've also read past issue 100 of The...

The Walking Dead 4.1 "30 Days Without an Accident" (spoiler alert)

Good point on the plot hole with Hershel being a veterinarian. My guess is that the guy feeding rats to the walker put a half-eaten rat into the pig's feed and the kid ate the bad pork and got zombie fever and died. I think his illness was a bit too quick for swine flu, and he was vomiting...

The Walking Dead 4.1 "30 Days Without an Accident" (spoiler alert)

Agreed that they should have reinforced the perimeter more, but they did put supports up against the outer fence, as well as a metal gate where the "front" door was located. I wonder if they spent time clearing out the other cell blocks at all? Remember last season, they had only cleared out...

The Walking Dead 4.1 "30 Days Without an Accident" (spoiler alert)

Interesting show last night - 6-7 months have passed and Rick is now a farmer growing vegetables and raising pigs. Slow start, but a lot of set-up for later in the season. I wonder how the teenage kid that looks like Harry Potter got infected? If he was infected by eating bad pork, how many...

Pathfinder miniatures ... are folks using these much?

That's kind of how I felt, too. I've never had much use for Clockwork soldiers or the aforementioned Alchemical Golem, as well as the shark-men figures. You'd kind of have to do something special to put them in your average D&D/Pathfinder game.

    In Soviet China...

you're forgetting the first part of my answer already takes care of that part of the mistake - Hong Kong seems to have moved to around where Rio de Janeiro is located. So, that already is saying that they have the wrong continent, since the last I checked, Hong Kong and Rio were on two...

    In Soviet China...

you are completely missing the point again. I'm referencing a mistake that is not related to the picture of Brazil on the map. If there were no map on the screen and the crawl came across the bottom of the screen that said, "Giant Hornets kill 42 people in Hong Kong" somebody reading the crawl...

Thanks for stating it more clearly than I did.

    In Soviet China...

Again, my comment was not related to Rio and Paris, for example, or the map of Brazil. It was related to Hong Kong's location within China. The story was about the wasps in China and they had "Hong Kong" listed in the wrong location, but it's still listed as Hong Kong (a city within China)...
