    In Soviet China...

Umm, I'm the one that pointed out that they listed Hong Kong where Rio de Janeiro was located. My example in the next sentence (hence the word "also" in there) of showing Hong Kong was not related to Brazil or the map at all, it was related to Hong Kong and its location within China - as I...

    In Soviet China...

Hmm, Hong Kong seems to have moved to around where Rio de Janeiro is located. Hong Kong is also not where the attacks took place in China - it's like pointing to Miami on a map when something happens in Oklahoma.

Pathfinder miniatures ... are folks using these much?

the one I really *had* to buy was the White Dragon evolution set - the size M, L and H white dragons (coupled with my Gargantuan WotC Icing Death white dragon, I now have a White Dragon family)

    Sleepy Hollow

Seems like an interesting show so far. I like it, but don't love it. The two leads are appealing - Ichabod and Abbie. But I do agree with the above poster that it seems a bit like the X-File so far - two "monster of the week" episodes after the headless horseman pilot. But, they do seem to...

    In Soviet China...

They're also in Japan, and this story coming out in recent weeks led me to find out they're in China, too. Nasty creatures - a small group of them can invade a nest of honeybees and kill the entire hive - thousands of bees - in a very short time span, ripping the heads off of dozens of bees...

Pathfinder miniatures ... are folks using these much?

I liked the Skull & Shackles set as well - a lot of the pirate miniatures could be used as swashbuckling PCs or NPCs in addition to being pirates or bad guys. While it's nice to have some unique miniatures (Balor, Pit Fiend, Marilith, etc) I prefer ones I can use multiple times in different...

Wonder Woman short film garners 3.5 million views in a week

True, even brings back Lena Headey and the guy who played Xerxes. I think it's kind of a prequel, sequel and concurrent event at the same time in terms of the storyline.

Pathfinder miniatures ... are folks using these much?

Agreed, it does seem like a lot of plastic, too. And, it's only been on a minority of the miniatures that they've broken, but it's a significant enough amount that I've noticed. If you want singles, I'd suggest going to eBay, or online gaming stores like Troll & Toad. Several years back, I...

Pathfinder miniatures ... are folks using these much?

I've bought several boosters of them and think they're good quality in terms of sculpt and paint jobs. Some of them seem pretty hard to use beyond the specific adventure path where they appear, though (Alchemical Golem?? Sorry, I've never used one in any D&D game before since the late 70s and...

There are games out there besides D&D? When did this happen? ;)

I like the study that's announced every few years like it is big news, "Binge drinking is common on college campuses!"

    Jerks need not apply

Interesting to have that in writing. Being in my mid 40s now and having gone on a ton of interviews over the years for various finance/accounting type roles, I do think most companies are looking for somebody that can not only do the job, but is also the right fit personality-wise. However, I...

Pathfinder 1E Does pathfinder strike anyone as too gamey?

I remember back in 3E or 3.5E days when I was a player, I rolled stunningly well for my PC using 4d6. I think my lowest stat was a 13, and it was something like 13, 14 16, 16, 17, 18. My character was an elf duskblade, if I recall. He died in the first session due to some bad rolling in...

Pathfinder 1E Does pathfinder strike anyone as too gamey?

One of my players did that back in 1e days as well - and, it was on the table in front of everybody. Even I gave him a "high 5" for that one, and I was the DM.

Wonder Woman short film garners 3.5 million views in a week

She's supposed to have that level of strength, but I don't think the old TV show with Lynda Carter played her up as quite that strong. Not sure how strong the WW in the failed pilot with Adrianne Palecki was supposed to be, either, but I saw a preview that had her in hand-to-hand with thugs...

Wonder Woman short film garners 3.5 million views in a week

I guess this means that there could be a market for a Wonder Woman film? Too bad Joss Whedon is busy with The Avengers - he might have been a good one to lead the project. Any ideas on who would be a good Wonder Woman? Jennifer Lawrence? Gina Carano? Scarlett Johansson? Here is the...

D&D 4E Forked: "Math and Grind" or "Why Rechan is Right" (From: "4e One-trick ponies")

good point on waves on minions. But, part of the problem is that if the PCs see a bad guy using an action point (or, RPing it, taking more actions than usual and to greater effect), they know to focus their attention on that bad guy.

Pathfinder 1E Does pathfinder strike anyone as too gamey?

the all-time powegamer rolling method was back in 1e Unearthed Arcana (I think that was the book). Basically, you decided what character you wanted to be ahead of time - so, if you wanted to be a wizard, you would roll 9d6 and keep the top 3 scores for INT... then, 8d6 for the next most...

D&D 4E Forked: "Math and Grind" or "Why Rechan is Right" (From: "4e One-trick ponies")

I found the article - http://angrydm.com/2010/04/the-dd-boss-fight-part-1/ He makes some good points - a solo monster is going to be hit with 4x as many status effects as a regular monster, so is even more vulnerable to being nerfed by simple powers that Daze, Weaken, Slow, etc. Imagine a big...
