What 3E Core Races have you used and LIKED?

Uhhh, humans? I've played humans, halflings, elves, and dwarves, though really, I've played humans the most out of any characters I've had. The halfling seemed fun for the two sessions I played him, the dwarf was fun, the elf was okay, and I've never played any of the others. But...

Can we please stop calling D&D Insider an MMORPG

I was just being sarcastic about the furor over this whole 4e thing. ;) I HAVE seen people compare the new rules (what little we do know of them) to being videogamey for whatever reason. First off, welcome. Second off, your well-meaning, rational post is wrong, wrong, wrong! It's played on...

Can we please stop calling D&D Insider an MMORPG

MMORPG/WoW? Check. Videogamey. Double check. Anime? Hrm, well, hrm haven't seen that one yet. Has anyone started calling the D&DI anime yet? Cuz, if not, then I wanna be the first. I've never set a trend in my life, but I've always dreamed of it. :)

    Gargantuan Orcus at GenCon

So... 4e has the power to kill you and animate you as a good, book-buying bodak? Nothing sinister at WotC my arse! I see the terrible truth for what it is! :D

    Thank You!

Technically, those first two are Paizo not WotC. ;) (Dead Horse Kicking btw?) Anyways, last year was a pretty damn strong year product-wise, you guys deserved it. Gratz on your win.

Expedition to the Ruins of Greyhawk - got it!

Been reading through it lately, but man, this is easily the best of the Expedition series, bar none. I really like how old-schooly the module feels while still sticking with the 3e sensibilities. I really want to run this now.

Any word yet on what's happening to monsters?

So how are those advance copies of the 4E Core Books anyways? I'm no fan of his beholder or his rust monster either, but his ogre mage is a solid creature. It sticks fairly close to what it always has been, but spruces it up enough so that it sucks a little less. After I saw Mearl's version, I...

    Experiences with Monster Manual V

Used the Ember Guard last night. Didn't really do much damage considering the PC's all had fire protections up for the fight, but it kept the PC's guessing as to what it was and what it could do.

Is WoTC even relevant to you anymore?

The only d20 companies 'relevant' to me now are WotC, Paizo, Privateer Press, and MAYBE Necromancer Games. Every other company seems to be spending sooo much time reinventing wheels that I find very little use with what they do now *coughGreenRonincough*. Sure, Privateer Press doesn't really...

[Monster Manual I] I've only just realized...

Yeah, Brom's devourer kicks the crap out of the MM and PSMCIII pics. It helps that the picture has some background to it too.

"How to make a Monster Manual Pt II" article

Perhaps, though that's a question that could be aimed at many aspects of the game. I'd think that having a few complicated creatures won't be too bad.

"How to make a Monster Manual Pt II" article

I can see both sides of the issue: On one side, monsters should not be hard to run. Some monsters have way too many abilities, many that are just too hard to keep track of during a battle. For example, most outsiders have arseloads of SLA's and other supernatural abilities. A month or so ago...

    Favourite 3.5E dungeon adventures?

. My players did not bite and even I felt it was a bit weak going in, but I thought I'd leave it in anyways. Not a big deal, but w/e.

    Favourite 3.5E dungeon adventures?

I used the Cairn to jumpstart my non-AoW campaign. So you definitely don't have to use it as part of an AP. It's great. There's one, small issue I have with it, but overall I think it's one of the best 1st level adventures I've ever read. My list: 1) The Whispering Cairn 2) Into the Maw 3)...

    Malazan: should I keep going?

Deadhouse Gates is usually considered the 'best' of the series so far. If you don't like what you've read so far, then there's really no reason to continue on as it doesn't get much better than this. Addendum: Though Deadhouse is probably the better written, more tightly plotted book, I...

    The Lies of Locke Lamora

I've been pimping this book since it came out last year, even got two of my RL friends to read it. Looking forward to RSURS, though I might have to wait to get it until I have some money. :\
