At my table the fighter (aside from EK which we have not seen) is clearly surpassed by the Paladin and Barbarian in play. Interesting questions. I voted for Greyhawk - the setting would really suit 5e. The relationship between the edition and setting really matters to me. I just started playing a 4e campaign in Dark Sun and 4e and that setting work really well together.

OK I see so you are only counting very satisfied in these polls. I have been reading those polls as mostly satisfied as playable but ideally I would like some changes (compared to a persons ideal take on the class). I still would still reckon that a designer of 5E would be happy with those results.

Good quality procrastination! I am pretty happy with/prefer domains for clerics but agree with many of these breakdowns - especially the martial classes. I do find the contrast in the detail in 5e between clerics and fighter very stark in terms of depth and flavor of the subclasses.

We play RAW. If you dont like class we just move to another. We have had a few people complain about classes, for eg we have had people migrate from fighters to other classes. If I were to start a new campaign I would probably make some tweaks - but I tend to play one long campaign per edition.

Paedur the bard is pretty cool dude who is completely humourless and uses lore and stories to convince various people along his way. OK, with 5e should have been more specific. As this is somewhat of running joke in our party because the bard monopolizes the PhB, as the cleric and Paladin mostly use the same cures and smites respectively.

I dont understand how 5e really needs it. We hardly even use the PHB during play. The only people who use the PhB at the table are the spell casters.

Is it from a Dungeon Crawl Classics module for third edition? I liked his art in Dragon magazine from the 80s, and I remember seeing some of his (funny) art in some of their products more recently. It may have been another company but it wasnt WOTC iirc.
