    Firefly

Don't bother. It was a great miniseries with two or so amazing seasons, followed by a two-season nosedive into a finale so bad I wish I'd never watched a single episode.

    The Essentials articles are atrocious.

That's all well and good for Spike, but Timmy and Johnny don't care.

Military leader, town leader - title?

Ductus if you wanted the past participle. The infinitive is ducere. Eques is the singular. The adjective equester is also sometimes used substantively.

    Things that WOW didn't invent

Blizzard first used these in Warcraft 3 (on the Warden and Blademaster, respectively). In fact the pre-WoW Warcraft games are full of D&D stuff, from Ogre Magi to Dust of Appearance.

    Sellout Woot and D&D

He didn't. The link no longer works because it's a new day and, thus, a new woot. You can still find yesterday's woot here. There's no disguised criticism of anybody's play style or anything like that, folks, just a randomly hilarious product review.

Suggestion for compromise on Wizard's PDFs

The arbitrariness of the sign is a basic feature of semantics at this level. If everyone starts using "cat" to mean "dog" then "cat" does, in fact, mean "dog." There is nothing to be right or wrong about: words mean what people use and understand them to mean. See the word history of internecine...

Suggestion for compromise on Wizard's PDFs

And also simply wrong. The OED has this use of piracy attested in legal contexts 400 years ago, and that's just the OED. More importantly, it continues to appear in legal contexts today, such as in the majority opinion of Dowling v. United States, which Krensky brought up earlier. People have...

    On the marketing of 4E

Yes, they violated some basic marketing practices. Violating basic marketing practices can be a very effective marketing practice. See: Dana White.

How to respectfuly disagree with EGG?

The way you just said it, I think. It isn't necessarily relevant how games are intended to be played, no more so than how houses are intended to be lived in. When it's your house you can do whatever you want with it. Who cares what the architect had in mind?

Sexism in D&D and on ENWorld (now with SOLUTIONS!)

Maybe. But it's also possible that both the game and the rebuttal were for the lulz and you're the victim of some epic trolling.

    It's hard to avoid arguing

Impressive. I just don't buy the old line that, as Mustrum_Ridcully put it, "everyone has something to say that has merits." In fact, I think a lot of people have absolutely nothing interesting or worthwhile to say. The ignore list is just a handy tool for muting these people so they don't...
