    D&D 5E (2014) Spell Component Game!

Lolth's Compulsion A cruel prank devised by druids who are aligned with the spider-goddess, this self-targeted allows one to summon "make-up" made of dung and other wastes and noxious materials. Then, by citing the magical phrase "Maer'Ree Kaye" to a chosen victim, the victim is compelled to...

    D&D 5E (2014) Let's Read: Volo's Monsters

Imagine the players having to defend a couple of korred for long enough for the korred to conjure elementals. Like if the elementals are required to shut down a portal of some sort.

D&D 5E (2014) [DM Help] Faerûn's Vendors - A flexible vendor system for magic consumables

Well, the idea is that any magic items you give the players are ones you intended to give them. If you want to go 20 levels with nothing more than potions and scrolls, there's really nothing stopping you from doing it.

And Here Are The Official 10 Most Anticipated RPGs of 2017!

Oops! I meant O.L.D. I blame the cold meds. I'll be glad when this mess passes.

And Here Are The Official 10 Most Anticipated RPGs of 2017!

I had hoped that N.E.W. or N.O.W. would at least hit 10th place.

    D&D 5E (2014) Let's Read: Volo's Monsters

A couple of korred could unleash a devastating surprise attack on a party. Have them meld into stone until the party passes by, then pop out. One uses Command Hair to entangle the fighter, another hits the rogue with Otto's irresistible dance. Next round, they both pop elementals, then spend the...

    D&D 5E (2014) Do You Even Homebrew

It varies from game to game and I create a lot of magic items. I think the option I had the most fun playing with is varying feats. I've had them as cybernetics, magical tattoos on people, divine blessings...

    D&D 5E (2014) Spell Component Game!

Tasha's Uncontrollable Storytelling The target is cursed to constantly tell a never-ending stream of incredibly boring anecdotes about 'how things were in my day' if they fail their save. Component: A pixie's giggle.

D&D 5E (2014) Basic question: Do material components get consumed?

It's also on page 203 of the PHB. Found it once you quoted the text and it tagged a memory. I think I've played too many games with variant rules as of late.

D&D 5E (2014) Basic question: Do material components get consumed?

I would say it depends on how much bookkeeping you want to do on spellcasting. If as little as possible, go ahead with the no.

D&D 5E (2014) Give me your craziest, most GONZO PC concepts!

I had fun with this one. Goodwrench Badfellow, the Good Lich God of Confusion Goodwrench Badfellow was a "giant halfling" (really-tall human raised by psychotic, Belkar-like halflings) who honestly believed himself to be the living embodiment of evil. He spends most of his time rather confused...

    D&D 5E (2014) Elder Brain Armor--Volo's Guide gap

What Leatherhead said. Let them find a way in and then see what they do to drag it out. Or if they find some advantage you're not considered (like using magic to try to boil it alive).

    D&D 5E (2014) Elder Brain Armor--Volo's Guide gap

The AC inside the enclosure is ∞ except against psionic attacks. The AC outside of the enclosure is 10. Edit: Made a correction. Also, consider there are ways to draw it out of the enclosure and ways to attack it without dealing with AC. It's a boss fight; encourage the players to get creative.

Starfinder STARFINDER: Here's What We Know

I'm waiting to see the rulebook itself. It's not that I don't trust the company or think it'll be good. It's that every time I talk about it, my friends have to remind me they can't hear ultrasonic and I'm tired of setting off the neighborhood dogs.

    D&D 5E (2014) What is "broken" in 5e?

The DMG is broken. As in, literally. It apparently can't stand up to repeatedly whacking players over the head with it. Back in the old days, you could fight off an insurgency, use the book as body armor during a war, nearly die twice, and the book still held together enough to be played with...

D&D 5E (2014) Ideas for a "fun" way to handle Darkness

I tend to poke the darkness with a stick to see if it reacts. When the DM finally gets annoyed and has it have some kind of reaction, I cast magic missile on it. This nearly killed the party once when it turned out to be a gelatinous cube filled with negative energy. All of that unleashing at...

Happy Haggert Hurried Hungry Hitch Hiking Hired Henchmen Hivers.... apply within

Pacman, on the Atari. I got quite good at it. And then the Atari stopped working. It was old when I first started playing it. I occasionally try modern remakes, but they're just not the same.

Unearthed Arcana Unearthed Arcana Introduces The Artifcer

Edit: I had posted a long argument here, but when I looked back on it, it wasn't coherent. I don't trust my ability to post coherently right now. The cold meds are kicking my butt. So, I'm bowing out.

Unearthed Arcana Unearthed Arcana Introduces The Artifcer

In order to get magic item creation in Eberron anything close to how it was envisioned, we're going to have to do away with attunement. That means the mechanics of this artificer class will have to be reworked. That's why it won't work for Eberron. The setting is too high-magic.
