    D&D 5E (2014) Halflings Of The Corn

So, I got the player's handbook the other day, love it, I'm a big fan of 5th Edition so far. Got a question though, why do Halflings look so horrific? I would never play one of these things, look at it. It's head is massive and giant, and it's got little tiny hands and feet. Honestly, you just...

    Napoleon versus Orcs

So, I'm wanting to run some D&D, but I'm really, really tired of the standard fantasy business, or what I call "Tolkien Fantasy". I like Orcs, I like Elves, I like Giants and I like magic, but I'm tired of castles and stuff. So what I would like to do, is bump things up on the timescale and make...

    What are you leaving out?

This isn't really "taking anything away", but I'm gonna make Dragonborn a mainly evil race in my game. Make them more related to dinosaurs, make them really aggressive and 'cold blooded', ha ha ha. Kinda like Trandoshans, actually.

    What are you leaving out?

All gnomes begin my game crucified. If any of the players have made Gnome characters, they roll two D6 and that's how many hours it takes for them to die forever.

D&D 5E (2014) DM Advice: How do you handle a TPK?

Generally I make them carry me on their shoulders around the neighborhood, while I wear the Crown of Victory. I then bake them a cake with the words 'YOU ARE ALL LOSERS' spelled out on the top.

D&D 5E (2014) Again the Banishment spell ruined my game !

How about you just think about it. What do you think would be distasteful to those targets? Better yet, how about you just look at characters, and ask what would be distasteful to that specific character?

D&D 5E (2014) Again the Banishment spell ruined my game !

Personally, since that spell component is so vague and so specific at the same time, my wizard just carries a separate pouch of severed Troll schlongs and fellas. You'd be surprised how many varied, different enemies recoil in terror at the sight, and so I can cast Banishment on most things...

    D&D 5E (2014) Why should I allow Multiclassing ?

I know I definitely love to stell sceanes from everybody.

    D&D 5E (2014) Why should I allow Multiclassing ?

All I know is that if I were going to play an old, pulpy detective-style character, I'd have a mixture of Barbarian and Rogue, I think. He can sneak around, but when that doesn't work it's murder time. So, I'm pro multiclassing for that reason.

    D&D 5E (2014) Why should I allow Multiclassing ?

Oh my god, that could turn really creepy if you end up kidnapping a princess. "I could show you the world. WHY WON'T YOU LET ME?!" That would be awesome.

    Armor as DR

I think wearing full plate should make you immune to slashing damage, full stop. If your character only has a sword, and the big bad villain is in full plate, you're in trouble. Unless, of course, your character half-swords and can get the edge of his sword into the weak points of the armor...

Pathfinder 1E Technologist (alternate wizard using Santiago rules)

Instead of a spellbook, he could have like a smartphone or something. Or a laptop.

Pathfinder 1E Shouldn't the Khopesh sword do Bludgeoning as well?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CkjyNjiUpz4 Think of the Khopesh as like, an Egyptian machete. It's gonna do some good slicing, chopping damage if it hits you simply because of how heavy it is, and how it's built. It doesn't need to be all that 'sharp' when the blade is as thick as it is...

I'm going to DM my 70-year-old dad's first D&D game

Have the entire town be a cult that worships the dragon.

Pathfinder 1E Custom Weapon group: Aquatic.

Man, those aren't aquatic weapons, although if you wanted to make a separate 'pirate' class, it could probably be proficient with some of those weapons. I thought these were gonna be weapons that were useful underwater. Like trident, harpoon gun, etc.

    D&D 5E (2014) CR 13 dragon beaten by level 7 party observations

If I ever run a Dragon, I'm just gonna say nothing can hurt it until the players get magical weapons, which aren't optimized against dragons. In fact, that'll probably be the campaign, right there.

D&D 5E (2014) Damage on a Miss: Because otherwise Armour Class makes no sense

Uhhh...no they don't. They represent something happening, depending on what the DM thinks should happen, and what the players can badger him into compromising on. What is dead may never die. We pay the iron price, here.

D&D 5E (2014) Damage on a Miss: Because otherwise Armour Class makes no sense

Yeah, hitpoints inherently bother me, just like many other aspects of the game bother me, but it helps if you think of them as more abstract. Otherwise, you're stabbing the level 15 Halfling with a dagger nine hundred and twelve times, because he has so much HP. And that's just silly.

D&D 5E (2014) Damage on a Miss: Because otherwise Armour Class makes no sense

Well, going up against a guy in full place if you don't have full plate on, that's a bad situation no matter what. But grappling him so that he doesn't get the benefit of his weapon, that's probably your best bet. Actually, your best bet is to apologize for whatever you did and lick his boots...

    D&D 5E (2014) How do royalty die in D&D?

If somebody brought me back to life after Godzilla digested me and plopped me out on a field somewhere, and I was a king, I would crucify that person's babies.
