D&D 5E (2014) If you aren't buying magic items, where will you spend your gold?

That's why you buy an Ogre, lobotomize 'em so he won't steal, then make him carry all your luggage.

D&D 5E (2014) How Close do you stick with the Game As Written?

First: I wanna play, and be Bowser or Donkey Kong. Secondly, I assume you've made rules for the Buttstomp combat technique?

D&D 5E (2014) Please someone explain to me

Yeah, when we finally get the 5e books way down the road, a buddy wants to run a dark ages sort of game where I'm gonna be a Necromancer, and I'm gonna be playing him pretty Bardy. You know, living on the road with his raven, taking flak from villagers while giving them a bit of sarcasm, and...

D&D 5E (2014) I Am SO Over The "Rootless Vagabond" Archetype

I'm not gonna lie, I think the Expendables are fantastic, and I've always wanted to see a campaign based on that team. Running around, gunning everything down, mumbling pre-ass-kicking-one-liners at mooks...it would be great.

D&D 5E (2014) I Am SO Over The "Rootless Vagabond" Archetype

I play almost exclusively Martial classes, I love Fighters and I love Barbarians. But my Fighters and Barbarians are vastly different from my Fighters and Barbarians, y'know? It's because I try to vary them up and give them personalities and backstories and all that good stuff They might all...

Spelljammer Fish out of water campaign - Spelljammer

Oh, you mean like that one movie? The one that was actually really good until the twist happened and you got pissed at the director because you realize he can't make a movie without having some sort of 'twist' like this? That game idea sounds radical, you should totally do it. And absolutely...

    D&D 5E (2014) Firearms, Explosives and You

All you gotta do is add loads of ballistic and other resistances to the Tarrasque. Or just say, "Yeah, your glock doesn't hurt the giant Godzilla-expy, try something else."

    D&D 5E (2014) [UPDATED] DMG - Villainous Classes Preview

Another clue: They decide for themselves, or they just decide to go along with the flow of their local culture. There's not really any difference between the two. A strange culture indeed, but strange is not evil. Strange is merely different from what's considered normal.

    D&D 5E (2014) [UPDATED] DMG - Villainous Classes Preview

What's acceptable to the local culture and what's morally right or wrong have nothing at all to do with each other. And mayors work better without arms, that way they have to work harder to pat themselves on the back.

    D&D 5E (2014) Firearms, Explosives and You

I approve of guns emasculating wizards. They can go back to their towers and sulk with their spellbooks. Also, I approve of the two ideas presented here, IE ballistics damage and the magical item shpeal, so that nukes can take down golems. I'm just waiting for them to stat chainsaws, so I can...

    D&D 5E (2014) [UPDATED] DMG - Villainous Classes Preview

Having an extreme emotional response to seeing something doesn't mean that it's evil. It only means that you either aren't used to seeing it, or that you don't want to see it.

D&D 5E (2014) Do you Consider Flavor Text to be part of Raw?

Oh my god, don't remind me. My group went crazy on WoD for October because we'd never played any of them before, but the unhelpfulness of those books have really cooled us off on all of our different campaigns we were planning.

    monk weapons

I don't know the answer, but I'd love to see a maul-wielding Monk.

D&D 5E (2014) Do you Consider Flavor Text to be part of Raw?

No. Considering that I play Barbarians eighty percent of the time, but none of them have ever been wildmen or illiterate rage-machines, I don't consider flavor text to be all that important.

D&D 5E (2014) How Close do you stick with the Game As Written?

And since those hundreds of thousands of stories tend to bore me, I change things up and do what I want to do.

D&D 5E (2014) How Close do you stick with the Game As Written?

I don't. The whole point of the game, for me, is to take what I like, throw out what I don't, and make a world that's fun for me to 'run' for people. Otherwise, I'm just running a book for people, so why not run one of those Interactive Goosebumps books? Those ones at least have Spooky Slime(tm)...

Purposefully Overpowered Encounter - Umber Hulk

Uhhh. I don't remember anything about the Umber Hulk in fourth edition, other than the fact that yeah, they're pretty tough. But for five players, maybe beef up his hitpoints or something, since he's gonna be doing one thing while five things happen to him.

D&D 5E (2014) Death Domain and Oathbreaker preview

Not gonna lie, I'd always wanted to make an adventuring Necromancer. And that's coming from a guy who 9 times out of 10 just can't stand the magic classes.
