Help with Swordmage feat selection please

What type of Warlord is it? Does he use Commander's Strike (which gives lets an ally perform a melee basic attack)? Eladrin Soldier may be nice at some point, but damage isn't your biggest concern. Sure you want to do some, but thats really the job of the strikers. Do you find that you are...

    Here comes Power Booster Packs

Remember, the new powers will very likely end up being in the Compendium. And really, how is this any different than adding new powers via a Dragon article? As long as they are going through R&D the same as Dragon and new books, then hopefully any new powers will be balanced with the current...

    New site DnDPowerCards.com seeking volunteers

Glad to see that people are enjoying the site. There is still quite a bit to get done, and things are in progress. Though more get accomplished on some days than others =) Racial powers: Almuric is working on those. They seemed to cause some troubles with his scripts. I'm going to update...

3 Questions- Temp HPs, 2H Wpns, Barbarian Rage

4e is a game system that defines what you can do, not what you can not do. So, show me the rule that states you can do this. Some quotes from PHB pg 215: Not too much meat there, but it gives us a starting definition. In the next paragraph: These are weapons with the Off-Hand property...

3 Questions- Temp HPs, 2H Wpns, Barbarian Rage

This is a false argument since the dagger can not be used two-handedly. Mechanically, because it lacks the "versatile" keyword. Narratively, because the handle is too short for two-hands.

D&D 4E Forked Thread: Some Thoughts on 4e

Can you provide more information? I agree 15 rounds on some kobolds is way too long.

Thanks to almuric, ALL powers are now in the database. Most of them still need their side boxes filled out. If you notice anything wrong with any of them, please let me know.

D&D 4E Forked Thread: Some Thoughts on 4e

Strictly speaking, Prestidigitation probably shouldn't be able to create an illusion of several rats moving around. That being said, I think it could cause the ogre to -smell- like rats which could have had the same effect. Also, I probably would have let them do the rat illusion myself...

DDI annoyance: a solution to forced/unavoidable continuing billing

I don't recall that being there when I subscribed. Perhaps they have heard the complaints and added it already. And to answer your question, they shouldn't be able to.

D&D 4E Forked Thread: Some Thoughts on 4e

I agree, 4e has fewer options for the wizard than 3.5 did. I actually went and counted to see how many fewer options he has now. In 3.5, from the PHB the wizard had 371 spells. Wow, yea that quite some versatility. Of course it takes 107 pages to actually detail what those spells do. Well...

[Dragon] Gladiators: We who are about to die...

There are many wizard powers that have both a Sustain line and Save Ends as their durations. I agree, that does seem odd. Hopefully, they will add Sustain lines to these powers before they final version is published at the end of the month. Even if its "Sustain Free", the way the PHB defines...

[Dragon] Gladiators: We who are about to die...

Both Sustain and Save Ends are ways to define durations in 4e. If a creature makes their save, the effect ends. If the caster fails to sustain an effect it at the end of their turn (starting the turn after its cast). Either of these can end the effect. If the target saves during their turn...

    Magic item creation question

Two things. 1) The values listed are the base value. The price to purchase an item should actually be higher. 2) There are ways to decrease the cost of rituals. There is a ring in the Adventurer's Vault, Ritualist's Ring, which can reduce the cost by half. There is also an Epic Destiny...

We who are about to die...

It doesn't feature the content from MP, it references it. Basically, the article includes many feats which give bonuses to At-Will powers, some of them from MP. It does not detail the actual power from MP, it just says stuff like "If you hit with (New power from MP), slide the target 1 square."

    Bonuses

Eladrin Soldier and Dwarven Weapon Fighting granting you both proficiency and a damage bonus seems to be perfectly in line with the new feats that just came out in the Gladiator article which grant proficiency and an effect when using the weapon. There is also the fact that if they only gave...

We who are about to die...

Gladiator is not a class. The article adds new feats (and other things) that the current classes would use if their character was a gladiator. So, yes its a real article. See my post about what the article includes...
