Adapting generic TTRPG rulesets (notably Genesys)

So, I'm continuing the TTRPG expedition that I began after the start of the pandemic. I've invested a good amount of money and time in the past two years to explore different systems: Zweihander, Symbaroum, Forbidden Lands, Vampire the Masquerade, Lancer, etc. One type of product that I haven't...

RPG Print News – Cubicle 7, Arc Dream Publishing, and More

I bought the Adventures Collection for Symbaroum. It came out right when I took interest in the first adventures of their multi-module campaign.

Paizo Jessica Price (ex Paizo employee) spills the beans

Jeff's statement was very weak. Erik's one, at least for me, makes sense. It's very obvious no matter the truth that he showed a poor judgment in putting such symbols on display, but I honestly have weirder stuff on my shelves, I just wouldn't put it on display at the office or slip it into a...

Paizo Jessica Price (ex Paizo employee) spills the beans

OK, I'll try and shift the thread in another direction to promote discussion. I've got a question. Most of you are probably somewhat familiar with the recent events with Activision-Blizzard. When discussing the topic with colleagues, I hypothesized that Blizzard was one of the few company that...

Paizo Jessica Price (ex Paizo employee) spills the beans

I had to stop myself multiple times to ask if Paizo finally had made it in the green list. :ROFLMAO:

Paizo Jessica Price (ex Paizo employee) spills the beans

I did not say any of these things. Listen, I don't think we'll go anywhere with this discussion. You're taking this way further than it ought to. Some people said it was hard to follow some 150 posts on twitter split in like five different threads. The point was raised that maybe this isn't the...

Paizo Jessica Price (ex Paizo employee) spills the beans

True. She's an employee at ArenaNet, her profile says so. And she goes talking about the reality of narrative writing for MMORPGs. I'd quality her tone both as informative (for her readers) and a bit of a rant (it's not an easy job). So far so true. First thing, the some dude is a media...

Paizo Jessica Price (ex Paizo employee) spills the beans

I understand and can work with Twitter very well, thank you. But there's multiple free options that are much better than Twitter for this type of content: twitlongers, blog sites like medium, etc. And no, if I write my novel on a napkin I'm not going to hold it against others when they tell me...

Paizo Jessica Price (ex Paizo employee) spills the beans

I don't think the issue is so said cancel culture. If you do bad things, go to court and are found guilty then I'm probably not going to want to work with you for a while. I think it's just that twitter threads like that are such a poor medium. A well laid out post, with corroborations and a...

    In Defence of Chickens [IC]

Wenzel Uninterested in trying to lift the portcullis, he trots forward to catch up with Talia and Koby Edelgard, Margrit and Markus A bit surprised by the fall of the portculis, they set to check their surroundings. After a quick walk around, they find that the moan of efforts of the others led...

    Map of the New Forest

I love that. Makes me feel like I'm watching a map of the Shire with the thickets and small burgs. Would you happen to have a link to said print? I'd be down to buy that.

    The Green Knight

    I haven't seen Gattaca, unfortunately.

    The Green Knight

I saw it in a movie theatre about two weeks ago. The two people I was with really didn't enjoy it that much. It's a movie where a lot of efforts were put on the form. My father called it pretentiously artsy. But he does not enjoy that type of movie. As @Marc_C mentioned, it's a very slow paced...

D&D General Critical Role: Overrated, Underrated, or Goldilocks?

I don't consider myself a fan. You seem to be taking my post much more negatively than it is. I said that I agreed with most of what you've written. You've used an analogy, which is not wrong, but it doesn't describe my experience. I did not take your analogy apart, I simply stated it doesn't...

Systems Where You Dread Running Combat

The more I run Starfinder, the more I realize how unnecessarily complicated it is. Last session, a player used a smoke grenade and it took us like ten minutes to find the three pages where the appropriate rules were. I'm dreading the next combats where they'll use something of the sort again.

D&D General Critical Role: Overrated, Underrated, or Goldilocks?

I'm unsure if we're still talking about how much you can learn from Critical Role as a DM or something else, but that's the part of the discussion that I participated in in the other threads. That analogy does not represent how I perceive it. Everything you highlighted in your original post was...

D&D 5E (2014) In defense of my post....

I'm absolutely not going to support this campaign because of the manipulative title and call to action. However, the TTRPG communities are very active and tend to support alot of projects. That doesn't mean we support any project that's put up on Kickstarter.
