    Sword & Shield Fighter build

Paladin (or Cleric for that matter) also opens up Divine Shield through turn undead. Duration is half character level, so dipping in other classes is no real problem. You do need a high cha though (for more uses and increasing the effect of the feat).

    a different kind of druid

I started a druid with the PHBII shapeshift variant placing him as part of a clan of shapeshifters sharing a unique bloodline that explains the shifting and druidic/natural spells. A more american indian/feral background. This results in a more wild, gritty, down to earth and pragmatic...

Shapeshift Druid Natural weapon damage question

I would wait for slam though. Forest avenger and elemental forms benefit both from INA (slam) and the damage would scale better.

    Help with rogue/duskblade build

Check out the daggerspell mage (CAdv). Rogue/Duskblade makes a nice entry in that class. DSM gives 6 skillpoints per level instead of the DB's 2. examples: Rog1/DB9/DSM10 for extra dagger goodies Rog1/DB13/DSM6 for full round arcane channeling

    grappling

there's no issue with hitting your target in a grapple (taking part in it or not) with a melee attack. it might actually become easier as all participants of a grapple are considered taking up the same space on the grid as the largest participant of the grapple. any position that can attack any...

the druid PHB II shaphshifter , what am I missing ???

actually the predator form gains 1.5xstr damage since the bite is his only weapon. with a base 14 str getting enhanced to 18 for a +4 to hit and d6+6 damage of all types (blunt/pierce/slash) you are among the hard hitters in the early stage of the campaign.

Prestige Classes for PHB II Druid Shapeshifters

The bauty of the shapeshift variant lies in the fact that you can shapechange at will, a regular low to mid level druid with limited wildshape charges/duration gets penalized heavily if he leaves the druid class unless the PrC addresses wildshape itself. A good gish build for instance would be...

Wouldn't you be able to switch between say song and harp during your inspire courage, to say a few words to the group, switch back to singing to wield a weapon considering you have the perform skills in song and harp needed for the bardic music?

    Balance

Thus when moving through an area affected by a grease spell? The FAQ kinda proves that performing actions besides actual movement on the battlemap don't require balance checks. Grease 3.5 already being better than grease 3.0 (now a balance check is needed to move and you might even fall prone...

    Balance

Considering the heavy implications of being "balancing", I'm rather surprised about the popularity of this thread, no offense. Let's say this was an introduction to another issue: the grease spell. I'm rather reluctant to link the grease spell, being a good level 1 spell as is, to the...

    Balance

Only moving on a precariois surface requires balance checks and subsequently you are considered "balancing" only during your movement? Standing still on a precarious surface, even while performing move actions (not actual movement), don't require balance checks nor are you considered "balancing"?

    Earth's Embrace (Complete Warrior)

Benefit: While grappling, if you pin your opponent, you deal an extra d12 points of damage in each round that you maintain the pin. <cut> Grappling rules say that you loose a pin just before the start of your next turn. So how do you "maintain" a pin?
