Okay, D&D 3.5 grognards . . . are you *glad* your game is out of print?

Glad but a little unsatisfied. I would have liked a few more Compendium style books as a capstone for the end of this edition. However, something like that would hurt sales of 4e. Why clean up and finalize 3.5 when you can leave it a mess scattered throughout dozens of books -- thus encouraging...

D&D 4E 4E boon or bust for Old School support?

I know how you feel, dude. It's like when people were dragging Rappan Athuk into the limelight over and over again with repetitive and useless discussions.

    D&D 4E 4E Devils vs. Demons article

I like how they are continuing to define the roles of monsters (in this case, Devils and Demons) but once again the fluff changes are turning me off. Too bad, because the core design of 4e seems to be really well done.

What is your top question/concern about 4th edition?

I suppose my top question/concern about 4e is this: how will the changes to fluff affect the rules?

D&D 4E 4E: Talent trees, class features or both?

Probably an alternating talent/feat option with talent trees replacing class features. Prestige classes may have a different class feature every level.

D&D 3.x Would you be interested in a 4E book of 3E designs?

If it could be done in one or two books in the first year, I'd be interested. I'm not interested in having conversions doled out once a year over the course of five to seven years, only to have the "official" conversion process abruptly end because the next edition will be peaking around the...

D&D 4E How many gamers even know there will be a 4e?

In most cases, I seem to be the person carrying the news of 4e. The scenario was much different last night, however. At a party full of nerds, the coming of 4e was common knowledge, along with many of the proposed changes. It was also fairly well known that Star Wars SE is an unofficial...

D&D 3.x Fond Memories of ENWorld and the 3E Launch

I remember it too. I had a different username then, lost to ravages of time and space -- a password floating aimlessly in some forgotten e-mail address.

D&D 4E Is 4E winning you or losing you?

Really? I might be. I'll go over my list of prestige classes. The print outs run about 600 pages, and I was assuming an average of one prestige class per two pages. As for the amount of work going into the conversions, I'm not talking about a Monte Cook or Robin Laws level of development or...

D&D 4E 4E boon or bust for Old School support?

In a way, 3.5 was a sort of "old school revival" with free converted old-school modules and the expedition series. This was helped by Paizo's use of 1e iconic material, giving the entire edition a "back to the dungeon" feel. Obviously, the adventures put out by Necromancer Games and other d20...

D&D 4E Is 4E winning you or losing you?

Let's say there are around 300 prestige classes in the Complete, Races of..., Sequel and other non-setting specific 3.5 splatbooks. With a designers guidebook (I assume 4e will have something similar to the "how to design prestige classes" chapter in the 3e DMGs) and the mostly completed 4e PHB...

Would you buy new 100% compatable 1E modules?

It would really depend on the price of the module, the production values, and the writer.

D&D 4E Is 4E winning you or losing you?

I started out excited, then as more details came in (on core changes to D&D mythos, not rules changes) I became less enamored. When a representative of WotC claimed there would be no 4.5, I once again swung toward the positive spectrum. However, the more details I read about the DI and the...

How many official settings have there been?

Kingdoms of Kalamar (3e) had a Dungeons & Dragons logo on it, so even if it wasn't published by WotC, I think it qualifies as a D&D setting.

Did you change your Forgotten Realms?

I voted "I took the realms, and rewrote them to my taste." I use elements of Greyhawk, DragonLance and Forgotten Realms in my game, as well as Lankhmar, Conan, Star Wars and William S. Burroughs. So I don't run a Realms game at all, really, but I do use information and rules from the books.

D&D 4E Feeling the Freedom From 4e While Savoring 3X

This week I made photocopies of the new "core" classes from the Complete books as well as the pages containing variants and substitution levels from those books and a few others. The total was around 200 pages. I also made copies of all the core prestige classes. That ran about 640 pages. I...

    Best single volume RPG?

I wanted to mention d20 Modern for all of those reasons. However, since I could never actually get a d20 Modern game together to play, I didn't feel qualified to vouch for it.

    New Design: Wizards...

This sounds pretty cool to me. I like the idea and flavor behind material components (and I hope they remain in some form, as they are a part of Dungeons & Dragons) but I've been in very few games where they were kept track of in any meaningful detail. By the time a player or DM has learned...

    What Interests You Non-Upgraders

I voted "not interested" because I have more than enough 3.5 material than I will ever be able to use. The only new 3.5 products that would interest me will never be produced, ie, more WotC compendiums for 3.5.

Ah yes -- I forgot to include Buffy in my Unisystem round-up. :uhoh:
