    [Eberron] Dragonmarked scion and pride

This depends *so* much on the dragonmarked house in question. With Cannith, the noble would turn up in a store at some point and say something to the PCs like: "You want to buy that? A Cannith-manufactured item? Since we know each other, here's a special price." If you annoy some member of...

German publisher of D&D 4E won't renew contract

I really hope so - would be really cool, it's hard to find a new gaming group if you're not very stationary. I'd totally love finally getting the Game Table, being able to play or DM in a German group while being in the UK (sometimes, you just want to do stuff in your native language). Cheers, LT.

Spotlight Interview: John Rogers on the Manual of the Planes

Also, if you're not a fan of John Rogers, you failed to read this comic! I mean... Einstein & Feynman fighting ninjas. Can't get much better than that. Cheers, LT.

German publisher of D&D 4E won't renew contract

I had that feeling for quite a while, back then when I still primarily lived in Germany (i.e. before '06). I think 3.0's release by Amigo was great for D&D, as Amigo was large enough to really push it into the open - that NWN was released around the same time just helped even more. Afterwards...

German publisher of D&D 4E won't renew contract

I wouldn't really say that they are more "simulationistic", but instead that they take gaming (like a lot of things) more "serious" - meaning they have less tolerance for corny things because then it looks "childish", i.e. non-appropriate. At least that's the impression I got from gaming back...

German publisher of D&D 4E won't renew contract

I am surprised how many fellow Germans can pop up on ENWorld, all out of a sudden... just to vanish again! Well, except for Mustrum, of course. But AFAIK, Shemmy isn't German. Cheers, LT.

Why are we all goblin sharpshoters level 2? What does it mean?

That was a question to Rel - mods can negrep... so I suppose Rel keeps negrepping himself, just to stay "infamous"! Cheers, LT.

    The Hive!

Simple: The two states are in linear superposition. Like Schrödinger's Cat is in a superposition of dead and alive. Quantum Insanity - approved by Cthulhu! Cheers, LT.

    Excerpt: MoTP Rituals (and ToC)

Rope Trick is 12th level now? That's nice - from two points of view: It makes it harder to use, more of a big thing if the (higher level) party needs to be safe *right now* From the "in-game" view: It was always too low - I mean it creates an extradimensional space on the fly, sort of a...

    The Hive!

Half of the original cast has left the show by that time. And yeah, it was the Cromag season. Season 5... I've not even attempted to watch it. But then, season 3 was the start of network meddling and it got much, much worse with the last two seasons. I think that was also the time Quinn became...

Wait... what? There pre-Christmas lay-offs... suck. And there are some really prominent names in it, which puzzles me even more. Well, best wishes to all that were laid off. :( Cheers, LT.

    Heroes #11: The Eclipse : Part 2/Dec2008

The problem with Sylar is that the writers like him, want to do character development and yet want him to be evil Sylar. Sometimes, you cannot have your cake and eat it too. Which is a pity, since I like Quinto's acting, I actually liked the initial "reformed" Sylar who was teamed up with...

Do you play more for the story or the combat?

Well, I would have said "both"... but if I absolutely have to decide, I come down to story. It is what makes it different from a skirmish/miniature game. Combat is fun - and as in heroic myths - a vital part of the story, but it has to serve a purpose in the story. Combat for combat's sake is...
