    New Star Trek trailer online

People are probably still suffering from Heroes-time travel. Oh, and yeah, Temporal Cold War. *sigh* Cheers, LT.

    D&D 4E The Magic-User: a 4e alternate class

I'd like to see that as well - a wizard where's "control" not realized mainly through area damage, but through interesting effects and some quirky stuff - for the wizard, 4E should have embraced the clarification of conditions and the added tactical element of forced movement and barriers. A...

The HIVE 90210-911: Volume 2: Extreme Ultimate Home Edition; Gone Wild w/ Nano-Bots!

That's a little bit creepy in a very strange way. The "clowns are creepy"-way. That she's looking good makes it far, far worse, because it's the mental equivalent of getting impaled with the brand new book you've waited for ages for. You have to specify the type of glasses. Roleplayers (the...

Try it! Bring it on! Wait a moment... Cheers, LT.

Need Some Ideas On Dealing With Death.

This will lead to one of two things: 1) The once-dead PC is worse than the rest and becomes a liability - or at least performs badly, making it less fun to play him. 2) The player cops out... and says he'd rather play a new character than play a crippled one. Personally, I rather prefer making...

The HIVE 90210-911: Volume 2: Extreme Ultimate Home Edition; Gone Wild w/ Nano-Bots!

In other words: The hive spreads, overtaking ENWorld one thread at the time! Cheers, LT.

    Advice for Gamers in Society

However, there's also something about "picking your fights" - it's not like you convince other people to change their opinion on that, mainly because these things (gaming related) are not just well-reasoned statements, but instead strong opinions and/or beliefs - and there's a difference between...

The HIVE 90210-911: Volume 2: Extreme Ultimate Home Edition; Gone Wild w/ Nano-Bots!

It does taste like chicken. Everything weird tastes "like chicken". And hello, Hive - was busy this week... with university. Upside is: I'm doing holograms! That's really, really cool! We work with a 532 nm laser (green, basically... and it's a class 4 laser, i.e. really powerful - at least...

    Starship Enterprise

I like it, very sleek. I admit, I would've made the deflector dish orange-reddish as a nod to the golden one... but that's personal taste, sort of (and because I'm a bit bored of that blue light = sci-fi convention). But I dig it a lot, very nice ship. Cheers, LT.

    POLL: DM or Player?

Usually DM and my group prefers it that way - they're player types. However, I do enjoy being a player occasionally, for variety and because you get to know what players *really* want. Cheers, LT.

    THHKotS - OOC

Ah, it wasn't criticism, rather my opinion on mapping for games online in general - the bane of web-based RPG playing in general. Cheers, LT.

    Discussing 4e Subsystems: POWERS!

True, the D&D magic system is probably one of the most quirkiest, I'm also glad that they conserved some of the quirky spells, though I hoped a bit that they'd tie more powers to the stunt system a bit more explicitly, so you could get more freeform-style magic (I mean it works, but it's a bit...

The HIVE 90210-911: Volume 2: Extreme Ultimate Home Edition; Gone Wild w/ Nano-Bots!

Oi, but it's not much better over here... by the way, I've seen your LJ comment - the hivemind spreads, indeed! :D Cheers, LT.
  15. WhatGravitas

    Discussing 4e Subsystems: POWERS!

True. Due to the codified nature of the 4E powers, a DM can much easier shut down player creativity - you really need a DM who embraces the DMG philosophy of "Yes, and...", otherwise 4E is really a lot more wargame-y than the previous editions. That's probably a big thing about the power system...

Forked Thread: How would you have done 4e's Powers?

While conceptually appealing, there's something I dislike about handing out a lot of powers - the fact that players, as they're usually people, have a limited working memory capacity - you can only keep track of so many things at once. Sure, you can compensate that by making the player memorise...

RPG comapnies and videogames - problems?

What? jdrakeh said "Black Isle"! Which was the development studio - Interplay was the publisher. Cheers, LT.
