    Looking for celtic names/words

Moorcrys, Perhaps you or someone else who owns this book could put a word in as to why I should get it. I took a look through it in my FLGS to the other day and was very unimpressed. It basicially looked like a printed version of the Onomastikon. Which I can get online, for free.

    Looking for celtic names/words

http://www.gaminggeeks.org/Resources/KateMonk/ The Onomastikon should be at the top of your list. http://www.ruf.rice.edu/~pound/ This is a list of word generators and word sources. If nothing else the links section should keep you busy for a few hours.

    T20 Homebrew Worlds?

It depends upon how much work you want to do. There are a fair number of Traveller variant universes, just not many of them specifically T20. Two from my Bookmarks list: Kingdom of the Swan http://www.users.bigpond.com/Skaran/ T20 Adventures http://www.geocities.com/flynnwd/trav/index.html...

How big are your house rule changes?

I've seen several threads discussing the house rule changes they made (or had inflicted upon them). I'm curious as to the general scope of the changes. The poll is aimed at D&D in particular, though can apply to any D20 game.

How would you introduce a new plot thread?

This is a question for both DM's and players. For DM's it's about how would you introduce a new plot for your players to chase down. For players, it's a question of how do you want a new plot thread introduced. The poll uses the boring example of a duke's daughter kidnapped (by orcs) for...

GMs: How much time do you spend creating your games?

Given the other discussion on the board, I'm not surprised with the results of the poll. I would guess DMs prefer to spend less time preparing for a game than actually running it.

GMs: How much time do you spend creating your games?

Bah. Silly software posts the message before the poll is complete. Try now.

GMs: How much time do you spend creating your games?

As the poll indicates, how much work do you put into creating a scenario for your players. In this case, the adventure should cover between one gaming session and five. Nothing epic, but a good round of fun for everyone.

GMs: How much time do you spend creating your games?

[EDIT]: Please try the other thread with the poll attached. My bad.

It's all in the way you run it.

Missing from the entire roll- vs. role playing arguments I've seen so far is how does the roll-playing social situations against the characters work? In combat, the rules are very well defined. Orc (DM) rolls dice, dice says orc hits, and does damage. No argument. But if the seductress uses...

    Flying vehicles

Skipping the obvious: Balloons and/or zeppelins. The Chinese were using bamboo kites for manned aerial scouting long before the laggardly europeans were flying. Steampunk (the imaginary kind) also had discoverd several ideas which were later found wrong. Ether is the prime example, it's the...

    Magic Item Creation rules

Thanks. I'll take a look. I wanted to run a low-magic world, but the item creation rules ruin that effect pretty quickly.

    Magic Item Creation rules

I've reading through several threads on various fora (and Monte Cook's rant) about magic item creation not working the way it should. And have had several discussions within our group about how to abuse the 3.5 magic item creation rules as written. As a result I've thought about creating a house...

Blood and Space: d20 Starship Adventure Toolkit

Blood and Space Blood and Space is a 117 page PDF costing $8.95 available from RPGNow.com. The 7.8MB download package is a zip file with two versions of the document, a full version with the full color cover and added color edge bars, and a printer friendly version which lacks the cover and...

    Traveller D20 Spotted in Stores!!!

Not quite... which is too bad. I always like the effort of spending an hour rolling through a career, only to have the character die at age 60 (or so) from a failed survivial roll. Failing the survival roll in a during a career generally causes you to be kicked out of the service, sometimes...

    Polygons and their names

Essentially correct, except you've switched Hexagons and petangons. That is a polyhedren will have n hexagons and 5 (five) pentagons. If you want a visual image, think of a soccer ball (or football to the rest of the world).

    Spelljammer d20

I haven't read the Polyhedron issue in question, but given the way that D20 works I suggest one of the following. 1) Linear interoplation. If your new ship size is between two of the published ones, split the difference between the two and assign your ship that HP value. For example, if ship...

    traveller d20

The info from the publisher is that T20 has been sent to the printer, but it may be as much as 5 weeks until it gets back. So by mid-september it should be done. QLI was selling printed copies of the T20-lite at GenCon, so it's finished as well.
